That would pretty cool if Ohio State and Florida faced off in hoops

WC, in 1987-88, Oklahoma lost the football National Championship game to Miami in the Orange Bowl, and the basketball National Championship game to Kansas in Kansas City. Not a good year for Sooner fans. Good Luck

One of the main reasons, basketball powers are not really football powers for the most part.

Basketball powers over the last 35-40 years, UCLA, NC STATE, DUKE, UNC, KENTUCKY, INDIANA, KANSAS, Georgetown, Syracuse, Maryland, UNLV,

Football powers over the same period Texas, Alabama, Miami, FSU, Fla, Oklahoma, USC, Notre Dame, Nebraska, Auburn, Ohio State, Michigan.

It's either or for the most part.

You could list most of these teams in the entire history of college football
