i really cant think of a more uneventful ncaa tourney off the top of my head. theres been nothing compelling about the last 3 weeks.

* have there been any gonzaga/arizona or uab/wash (i think) kind of games that played into the 90s or 100s?

not unless you count that tennessee/long beach semi-yawner. sure the points were scored. but it wasnt really a game. otherwise, there hasnt been one of those wacky games that you hope never ends, even if you dont have a dollar on the teams involved.

* have there been any big upsets?

not at all. vcu against duke is about as boring an upset as there could be. especially since it wasnt a huge upset.

* have midmajors done anything?

not really. there have been no surprises. butler and southern were ranked and did about what was expected. advance a few rounds and then bow out with ok efforts. winthrop was lame after getting national hype.

* have the #1 seeds been dominant?

not at all. and thats almost as bad as there being no upsets. if there arent going to be many shockers, youd at least like to see the power teams dominate to set up some epic final four matchups. but its kind of a ho-hum final four. the best teams are there. but they havet exactly captured america's attention with dominant efforts over the last few weeks

i hate to be critical because this is still the best time of year as a bettor and fan. but this has been incredibly boring and uneventful.

I would have to say hell yes...nothing exciting about it. Most games are close for the most part but the fav takes over with 5:00 to go and all we do is watch foul shooting and three point shot attempts at the end of games.

Never seen a season where every game pretty much went the same way..

Dog had lead early-Fav pulled away in last 5 mins of half..

You people call yourself fans, but you obviously do not like basketball.

1968 was a bad Year with 37 pushes in the Tourney. I was really sharp in those Days and had the 1/2 point in 30 of them. :drink:

thats the problem. im a basketball purist on a certain level .... and this has still been boring.

this is the first time carolina's offense has been truly clicking with their uptempo game at its best. its taken them 3.5 games to get it going.

florida has been sloppy. ohio state sloppy.

no gritty underdogs.
no wide open offensive displays.

just mediocre basketball. not horrible, but hardly compelling.

I'm a fan.. March Madness is great.. Just not as good as past seasons is all..

What book you going to mess with for baseball?
I'm not sure, really. Probably Matchbook and Bet Jamaica. I am starting to get confidence back, as the gov't seems to have no control over the books that you mentioned the other day. But, as we have learned, things can change in a moment's notice.

its not about upsets. its about good basketball games down the stretch.

for example, a gritty dog that had its heart broken late:
unc-wilmington against maryland a few years ago.

this years script:
davidson shits the bed against maryland and makes for a boring finish.

and like i said, the flip side of upsets would be dominant play by the chalks ... and that hasnt happened either.

My problem is this, last weekend I spent the whole day at Caesars Palace watching the games. Last Saturday was one of the best moments that one could ever imagine if you were wagering on the games. This weekend however, I have been broght back to reality. My house doesnt bring out the entertainment like Vegas does. For the most part though I would have to agree that this has been one predictable tournament and I dont care for it, but I think this is what we will have now since the NBA rule is in effect. The rich get richer.

Gotta be watching with at least one other person who's rooting for the same team as you to make it truly exciting...because IMO, there have been a lot of exciting games. You just have to be able to share the excitement with others.

give me 5 truly good ones to add:

xavier/ohio state
vcu/duke
vandy/washington state

there have been so many games that COULD have been good heading to the final minutes. but then one team just shit all over themselves.

There have been some great games in the tourney. Maybe I'm biased because my bracket is looking beautiful this year, but I've enjoyed it.

You picked all the chalk?

Had Florida/UCLA and Georgetown/A&M as the final four so not all chalk. Only one #1 seed.

I originally had Butler into the sweet 16 but changed it to ODU at the last second. Got quite a few first round upsets but missed VCU/Duke.

I got the upsets early and my higher seeds have cruised pretty much accordingly (minus A&M).

VCU/Pitt
ND/Winthrop
Oregon/Miami (OH)
UNLV/GT
Wisky/TAMU
VT/Illinois
Butler/MD
UNLV/Wisky
Florida/Butler
Florida/Oregon
Kansas/SIU
UNC/USC
Vandy/Wash St
Xavier/BYU
Tennessee/UVA
Ohio St/Xavier
Ohio St/Tennessee
A&M/Louisville
Nevada/Creighton
Memphis/A&M
Ohio St/Memphis
Gtown/Vandy

I might be missing a game or two. Honestly, one team might have choked at the end of some of these games, the basketball might not have been beautiful, but all had moments late that were exciting and where either team could've won, where it was truly fun to watch. Even if one team shits the bed late, it was still exciting and fun.

That's just my opinion, though.
