How much can you send and receive using WU and Moneygram, without needing to show ID?

Also, does it vary place to place, or is there some uniform rule? Thanks.

Sending less than $1000 with either should not require ID. I have never received one but I'd think you would need ID to receive any amount.

just curious... why would anyone make a withdrawl using western union paying crazy fees, when you could take out a check for free once a month?

well I just sent money to WSEX via Western Union. I went to a grocery store to send it. It was pretty easy to do. The maximum I could send was $1000. The fee from WU was $6, which I didn't think was that bad. My money was in my account less than 30 mins later.

I did not have to show any ID at the store.

Don't know about receiving.

depends on what state you are doing the transaction.

Some require ID for any amount sending or receiving.

Some require ID over certain amounts.

milage will vary

Correct. My first and only WU withdrawal for less than $1K required ID. In fact, the sportsbook let me know in advance that I would need an ID so I believe they saw that I lived in a state where any amount would be requiring ID.
