Current status of BetJam's March Madness contest

I want to "bump" an interesting contest going on with how the top spots are still fighting for the prize money. This reminds me of NFL playoff scenarios during the last weeks of the NFL season, wow!

Players have to select EXACTLY 25 spread plays in this March Madness contest... (I sucked so don't look for mine, LOL).

Prizes:

1st place: $3,500 (54.0%)
2nd place: $1,750 (27.0%)
3rd place: $930 (14.4%)
4th place: $300 (4.6%)

You don't need my analysis below to see how this is going to be one helluva interesting ending!

But anyway here goes (SportSavant, feel free to correct me if I am wrong):

• If tennis28 wins the 25th play, tennis28 takes down the 1st prize, simple as that.
• If tennis28 pushes the 25th play, and Xpanda wins the 25th play, it would be an unbelievable tie! The prize money for 1st/2nd place would be combined & divided by two to be paid out to each, I presume.
• If Xpanda pushes the 25th play, but tennis28 loses the 25th play, Xpanda wins the 1st prize on the account of having 520 points while tennis28 having only 510 points after the loss.
• The scenarios for 3rd & 4th prizes are still murky at best, but kbhirsh is definitely still alive even though kbhirsh have NO MORE plays to select. kbhirsh only have to need EITHER trytrytry OR omaha_chiefs to LOSE their 25th play to cash something. However, if they both somehow pushes with their picks, kbhirsch would be out of luck.
• If trytrytry & omaha_chiefs each win their final 25th play, they will get the 3rd & 4th prizes, respectively.
• If trytrytry loses the 25th play while omaha_chiefs wins OR pushes the 25th play, omaha_chiefs will get the 3rd prize having -10 or -110 points. trytrytry & kbhirsh would share the half of the 3rd/4th place prizes as they would be tied at -120 points.
• If trytrytry pushes the 25th play & omaha_chiefs wins the 25th play, they would share the half of the 3rd/4th place prizes as they would be tied at -10 points.

Your post made me realize I did not give some a chance if they had only picked less than 24, like you did! Sorry about that!

However, I regret that it'd be impossible for you to get the 4th place money, apparently. Drat. You had 22 plays before last Sunday the 25th, but then lost 1 game on Sunday. So it looks like you have 23 plays and can only erase 200 points off your -530 current score?

But seriously, I see I missed out some possibilities, especially LameCapper who still has 4 more picks to go even though LameCapper is at -310 points!! Sorry LameCapper, you are MOST DEFINITELY ALIVE!

While BadCo has 5 more picks to pick even though he's at -520 points, and while Iceman still has SEVEN more picks to choose while at -610 points but they have run out of spreads to pick from. Only 3 games are left so at best, they can only erase 300 points off their scores.

Again, even if trytrytry loses the final play, he would close the contest at -120 points while kbhirsch would stay at -120 points regardless if omaha_chiefs also lose to go down to -220 points. Any survivor would have to bypass the magical -120 points to get to the prize money.

After further analysis, with LameCapper still in the picture, we will have to wait and see if LameCapper will post the plays for the final 3 games (2 semifinals & finals). LameCapper can go 3-0 and close this contest with -10 points. That may EVEN be good for 3rd place prize money if trytrytry do loses the last pick.

Please just ignore the scenarios in the 1st post but just keep an eye on how this contest will end, and give encouragement to our fellow posters in this down-to-the-wire contest!!

Calvin, you should have did this the final weel of The NFL Pick 4 contest...so many were in contention right down to the final weekend, in fact a couple people who placed looked all but out of it a few weeks earlier.

pushing the rules to their highest intent
posting his selections at the final second
starting a thread to try and hoodwink his opponent into believing who he's selecting.
playing dumb as if he doesn't know the rules.
giving out 'mulligans'
and more....

Once he told us he quit gambling for good (it last 7 hours) we all sent him parting gifts he never returned (lol)
