Lines are on average -140 and up at 5 Dimes when comparing and I pay -110 to him on everyone. Probably could be scalping these for $20 profits and making $300 a week or so, minimum.

Other hockey local (who only takes $100 on these, $300 with guy I lost too) I am up $700.

Just goes too show you that variance happens in betting and nothing is ceratain, another reason why I believe in betting alot of plays a month because eventually you should be up when if all the bets are +ev.

Worse part is the sorry sap (the bookie) just smiled and looked at me like I dont know what the heck I am doing (maybe I dont), like all losing gamblers. Like he has the edge. Patience should pay off.

at leasy you are building up your losses which will make him more hesitant to cut you off when you start seeing your side of the variance.

Hey ICEMAN, if caping has 0 to do with the way you bet am I correct in thinking that you can bet on any sport even if you dont know the first thing about the teams?

I hear ya, that is what I am telling myself. Just trading money with all these places but really want to nail this guy as he always beats everyone. Almost think he has a deal with the devil.

Back when I was middling I lost to him all the time. Hate to see a clown like him, who doesnt know what he is doing walking around so confidently in himself. Just want to hit him hard one time before the end of the season.

This is also a reminder to others than anything can happen over 200 bets or so. I know a few respected posters on here talk about how after 50 bets or so and they are up, down or even forming an opinion based on their results, they mean nothing.

this system favors dogs, and you are jumping on board at a time where the FAVS are coming in like crazy, it is often like this at the end of the year....

Just a month ago Dogs were barking louder than ever, but the last 3 weeks have been FAV city.

That is 100% correct. Give me a mathematical edge, and I'll bet on and turn a profit in Lithuanian women's basketball.

1000% correct. I use to be the biggest hoops fan in the world. I am an NBA trivia buff. Growing up it was my favoirte sport but could never beat it gambling (though some years came close).

Capping by following the market and it is all numbers on a screen to me. I know this takes the fun out of it for most and something I do not advise unless you plan on spending hours a day doing. You can also win following and capping as I have never said that but for me this is BY FAR the best way to go.

I can't name 10 non Michigan/Michigan St players in NCAA's but I have beat the piss out of the sport. High voulme and a decent sized edge makes for alot of money for me.

Some nites I can't even remember half the teams/bets I made by the time go to bed at nite. Don't care to watch or follow anymore. No reason too.

Hey Iceman, you seem like the type of person that likes to help people out.

You are starting to intrigue the hell out of me.

I would be willing to pay you good money next basketball season to be my teacher.

I am still sticking to capping for baseball, because I know I have an edge there, but im tired of pissing money away on the NBA and College basketball.

I have about the same size bankroll that you have, I could pull this off.

If you could do this, I would be greatfull.

Good luck.

You are a tremendous asset to the forum.

A true must read. I love your desire.

My counterpoint would be wouldn't you want to at least know you have some knowledge of the sport to spot & destroy soft lines?

I understand taking the best number on your bets, but the one thing I dont understand ICE is the fact that you have a best number on a fav and a best number on the dog.

How do you decide which one to bet? Or does it not matter one way or the other as long as you are getting a good line?

What I am saying is Team A may be -7 -110 as the best line for the fav, but there is also a best line for the dog on that same game. How do you choose which best side to take? The fav or the dog?

That may be the dumbest question in the history of the forum. I admit I dont know much about this subject but want to learn.

No, you just need a book that does.

Once again wouldn't you have to know something about a sport to a degree to know which book knows what. I guess one could chart it on results & line differences I suppose.

Chop,

No problem with going thru this next year with you and others, may tone it down a notch though as losing my edge could happen.

My best advice is to do a search on here and read up on a few HUGE threads we have had discussing it there. It is all laid out there in balck and white. I sweat nothing other than hard work not the results/games. I must say that it takes a few very important things to suceed at this and if you don't follow them than you my as well go do something else with your time.

Honestly am very interested to attempt this for bases this summer as I half ass tried last year but increased my knowledge on this type of betting tenfold since then. I consider this (bases) the biggest challenge I have faced ever betting wise as my confidence and finances are at an all time high and am ready to attack this. Taking off (sort of) a few days to get everything in place the next few days than it is away we go.

If I beat bases at the same rate as other 2 major sports than I will : A) go to another level finanacially next year betting and B) go to another level time and commitment wise also and may quit my job as I have not had a losing month (other than bases) since last Feb(when I started). Thankfully my job can work around this so that is good but I am serious if I had to make a choice I think I would be leaning towards betting and doing something else during the middle of the day. I can't even believe I am I even contemplating this but you only live once, I have 100% confidence in myself in my work ethic, passion and desire to succeed at this. We shall see!!

well I have the perfect work scedule to pull this off.

Im home for 7 days and gone for 7 days.

The 7 days im home, im home 24 hours a day.

I could could stare at the DONBEST screen from the time I wake up, till the time I go to bed if I had to.

I have a quality bank roll that could make the 30 or 40 $100 bets you make every night.

And most important, I have the desire and want to that you have to have.

All I need is the knowledge.

I admit, I have barly skimmed through most of those big threads you are talking about, because I was too much into wanting to do it my way.

Im over that now.

I believe you are on to something, and I believe you have figured out the secret to making money without capping.

If you dont mind, could you or someone else post the links to these big threads that I missed out on in the past?

This may be enough to get me going in the right direction.

At the very least, it will get me to the point of asking educated questions.

Any thread on this subject please post it in here so I can read them.

Thanks.

And good luck this season with baseball. I have every confidence that you will be a success.
