#6 IMONAMISSION (and no I didn't name her, she was already named when I bought her)

Don't waste your money on her but this the 1st time (out of less than 10 career starts) she has raced at another track (or should I say a halfway legitimate one) in her life.

She has great breeding lines as some of her sibilngs are big time trotters but she has not been able to put it all together in her short career so far. Loads of potential according to the trainer.

Got into this a year and a half ago to breakeven, have fun, competitive, love the sport, etc.. and has been a huge money burner so far. Own another one names IFALL ELSE FAILS, who is coming back from a few minor surgeries here in the next few months.

Going to the simulcast in a few.

Very cool! Good luck in your race today. I've heard many people say that getting into horses has been a big money burner-some MUCH bigger than others.

Chased utterly slow fractions & finished 4th but ran a good race to the 3/4 sitting in second from the start. No way they were catching the winner who wired the field with a 1:03 half.

Went off around 45-1 and got the pocket trip behind the favorite. Looked like a qualifer as they went to the half in 1:03 and change. Fav opened up down the backside as Icemans horse held onto 2nd until the top of the stretch. Faded to 4th.

At least the Iceman gets a check for his efforts here. The start was a good one for the first time over this track. Keep us posted on the next start. If this horse draws inside the 4 slot next out it may be worth a bet.

I believe the favorite was the 5 Padredotcom who finished off the board as he broke during the race. Nice 10 cent super payout with Ice's horse finishing 4th at 45-1.

Pretty happy with the results as she outran her odds and that was all my goal was. Which means not finish last (LOL).

Just the fact she stepped up to another track and rewarded us with a check is very gratifying. Still alot of work to do but a big confidence booster for all of us (horse, trainer, me) involved. Hopefully the worst is behind us. 6 months ago I would have laughed that she could even go to Northville (not that Northville is saying a whole lot) without embarssing herself, so this is a moral victory.

Still debating every month when I write the trainer and upkeep check, that if this is truly worth it but I will tell you nothing is more thrilling when your horse has a shot at the top stretch. Imagine how good I would feel if she was actually a contender.

Just out of curiousity. What track did she run at prior? Also, when you have a horse like this that goes off a bomb, do you play it to win, exactas/tri's?

do you post from the track?

No I am home. Went up to Sports Creek Raceway (about 12 minutes from house). Walked up 2 minutes before race started. Was back in my truck 5 minutes later and back home in time to spend the evening with my RX family:lolBIG:

Just seen on Hazelparkraceway.com (which opens late April) that they show their race live and free. If I felt she had a chance I may have went down to Northville Downs but it is an hour away, so I said simulcast was good enough.

She runs at her home track, which is 5 minutes from where she is stalled, Sports Creek Raceway. Which is about as low as a harness track there is and I am not kidding when I say that.

I like to bet as much as anyone but never even put a dollar on the race as I knew there was no chance, so just sat out the race.

Being an owner you are only suppose to bet your horse to win from what I understand. I am not sure how that works with Per's and Tri's as I am pretty new to this (less than 10 owner races with my 2 horses). You would have to ask a few on here as I am sure they know the answer.

Got involved more as a hobby as my buddy (the trainer) is trying to make it in the business and is EXTREMLY passionate about this and pushed me into it as it was something I had always dreamed of but probably never would have pusued without him. Like I said just more or less hoping to breakeven and have some fun along the way. Still love competion but since I am gave up highly competitive softball I need something to replace a few days a week with and hope this is it. Best thing is how much my girlfried has loved it, think she loves it more than I do. Now that this horse has passed a few hurdles the past month maybe we can take it to another level and start seriously competing and win a few races.

Dammit Ice. I would have went to see the horse. A little heads up next time. Hazel Park will open in the next couple of weeks. We will set up the Michigan Bash in the springtime there.
