Just wanted to get some opinion on which teams had the biggest makeovers in the off-season... might be interesting to see how the shake-ups in the off-season are reflected in the lines this year...

What were some major additions/subtractions??
Who improved and who didn't??

For the Blue Jays...
It was an off-season of one step forward, one step back..
Frank Thomas will take some pressure off Vernon Wells this year and if he plays half as well as he did last year, he will still be a bonus to the offence..
But the loss of Lilly will be felt this year.. they didnt do much to replace him in the rotation.. Ohka is a band-aid solution... he may toss a few good games this year but i think his consistency will be an issue, and before too long we may see Ricciardi pull some strings if his pitching isn't up to par..

The signing of Thomas and the loss of Ted Lilly should translate into some higher totals for the Jays, who were a huge Over team in the first half of the year last season.. I know it's only spring training right now, but they've been involved in a lot of low scoring games... Royce Clayton is a step in the wrong direction as far as their hitting is concerned but he'll bring some D to the table, further improving the chances for low scoring games...

Unders may be a good play for TOR early in the season...
The pitching has been decent so far, and as long as the staff stays healthy, we can expect a more balanced over/under record for the Jays this year..

Red Sox improved. Dice-K is huge. Drew should help quite a bit if he stays healthy. Lots of guys getting healthy. Keeping Manny happy. They did well.

Not a big fan of the Cubs' moved. They overpaid a ton of guys and although they should improve, they are still not contenders. Way overpaid for everyone.

DRays improved. Delmon is ready. Rocco is healthy. Bullpen a year older. Not so much in free agency but they improved.

Cards' rotation got better through subtraction, and then addition.

I think Lee will make a huge difference for the Astros. They may have one of the better lineups vs. left-handed pitching in the majors.

Astros' offense should be much, much better. They still have Berkman who is a beast and add Lee who is a beast. All the young kids that hit .250 last year should improve this year and they are in a hitters' park. If Dice-K or Johan don't lead the league in wins, Oswalt should. Assuming Lidge doesn't blow 162 games this year.
