Guys..Last night I lost my Father in Law to a brain anerisom (sp) unexpectedly. I have 3 children ages 18,20,22 that are just devastated. Sometime we think as are children get older they careless for the older people in there life. I would only say, spend as much time with them as you can, because you never know when it maybe the last time you see them..G.

Had someone I know die the same way and since then not a day goes by that I don't think how that could happen to any of us. Putting things in perspective and thinking how this can end so sudden changes your whole outlook on life. Sorry to hear this, my prayers are with you and your love ones.

Lost my mom to an aneurism when she was just 32 years old....they are here one day and gone the next - we never know how much time we have on this earth, so we need to make the most of it, that's for sure....

Terrible news G...very sorry to hear it.

My GF lost her father who was just 58 just a few days ago to a similar situation after having a heart procedure....you just never know.

Sorry about your loss, G. Yes, while I personally have no kids yet, I have learned in recent years to really appreciate the time with our elders. My father went through throat cancer last year, and I am very, very grateful he survived it and does not show any cancer left ever since. I always still appreciate every moment I have with my parents.

Very sorry to hear about your loss, G.

You're right about grandparents. As you already know, I'm quite lucky. Have one set of grandparents still alive (they are 92 and 88, married almost 66 years) and get to spend every day with them. There's no one closer to me than my grandma.
