Anyone else have this currently, I am sure there are plenty. What good/bad things do you have to say about it?

I got a new HD TV back before the superbowl, but never got the HD dish/DVR from Directv till now. Will be installed tomorrow and i am pumped to have this before the final 4 starts.

What channels will i actually get in HD? I think i heard or read there are currently not that many, but more and more will be added in the future.

How much are are you paying for this Brock......I have digital cable HD/DVR box, costs $9.99 per month. I love mine, I looked into the same box at Direct Tv and they wanted like $800 or something crazy for it. Decided to stay with cable.

Having an HD-TV without HD programming is like buying a Ferrari and driving it only in 1st gear up and down the driveway. I have Cox HD with DVR service and love it. DVR's are an absolute must....I find I watch most of my shows through the DVR so you can blow thru the commercials. Can watch a 1hr show in 35 minutes or so. The only drawback with HD is the limitation on the offerings...but they have and are expanding the offerings slowly but surely.

I paid 499$ Canadian for my HDTV Cable Box, and I think there was even a 100$ Bill credit on my Bill.

One downside to HDTV is that once you get it, you will not be able to stand watching anything that is NON HDTV.

Agree!!! It's similar to having a 19 or 21 inch computer monitor and then trying to use the old 15 inch....just can't do it.

Its costing me 450 bux going through Directv, that includes the cost of install which is happening tomorrow by a pro. Then they are giving me 200 bux credit on my bill, so the total cost is about 250 bux, and my Tivo/DVR costs per month will go frmo 5 to 10 bux since this is HD. I am pumped, can't wait to watch stuff properly...

How long have you been a customer. Tell them you aren't paying for it. You will rent for $9.99 a month. Fuck paying that much for it.

been a customer since 1998, an A+ one on their systems. Was able to get the HD DVR for 199 when i guess normally its 299. 10 a month is no biggie to me.
