Hard to believe but its been 20 years since Joshua Tree was released. I just heard Where the Streets Have No Name....I used to love that song and if U2 just released it on a new record you'd never know it was 20 yeas old.

But I'd have to say my favorite song is Bad, although I'm a bit burned out on it. A close second is a sort of homecoming.

Favorite album is An Unforgettable Fire, and although it only has four songs on it, Wide Awake in America has the live versions of Bad and A sort of Homecoming, both probably the versions most know today.

"Where the Streets Have No Name" or "In the Name of Love" (I don't think that's the exact name)

The Joshua Tree is the best album in the history of all albums. All That You Can't Leave Behind is my second favorite U2 album. But I love them all. How can a band be on top of the world for 25 straight years? I have no idea, but they've done it. It seems like there are many die hard fans like myself, but even people that don't particularly like their music still have an appreciation for their talent.

i watched that show on direct tv's free view about 30 times.

the way they did that song with bono standing all the way out in the audience with the white lights that rose up and lit up the entire arena, sent chills up and down my spine every time i watched it.

i just had to wonder what it was like to be him at that moment.

my 2 favorite songs that i will never get tired of are 2 of the greatest songs ever recorded . in my opinion..

Bad

Great question, not sure I could name just one of each....like you said some of the songs have become a litte burned out or atleast have less impact as decades past, did I just say "decades" ? Unbelievable!

I remember reading about the Joshua Tree album before it came out and I remember the article mentioning by the time it had its run U2 would become the biggest band in the world and surely enough it happened just as predicted.

I think the reason it's so hard to name just one is the versatilty of the group, they can go from slow (ONE-BAD) to fast (DESIRE-NEW YEARS DAY) to off the wall (LEMON -ZOOROPA) to political meaning (BULLET THE BLUE SKY- SUNDAY BLOODY SUNDAY) to deep (KITE-YAHWEE) and all the songs feel important...

Line the songs up say next to a rock band like KISS who have the sillyest lyrics and they are night and day , yet both have lasted forever in their respective musical genre.

Impossible to name one song...

As far as album, a very slight 'edge' goes to Achtung Baby

Tremendous live band, and when Bono sang 'Kite' hours after his father passed away, that kind of stuff you just don't forget.

goose bump material-

"I want you to know
That you don't need me anymore
I want you to know
You don't need anyone
Or anything at all

Who's to say where the wind will take you
Who's to say what it is will break you
I don't know
Which way the wind will blow

Who's to know when the time has come around
Don't want to see you cry
I know that this is not goodbye"

This was 1987 'we haven't played this for a while' lol

I found this 1987 version, there are several versions of this on YouTube. ..there's also a 1981 version, pretty wild seeing the progression...Out of control was their first single!
