Naw... not a bad send... A very questionable throw by Beltran... But if it works out and you throw him out that won't be brought up...

But with a 4 run lead and the heart of the order coming up you usually hold the guy from advancing to second... You usually concede the run

If he doesn't send him, it's first and third with Albert Pujols up and one out. One of the top five hitters in baseball.

On top of it, he sent the runner on a good arm in Beltran.

Yes but he did not think that ball would be thrown. As I said 9-10 times that ball isn't thrown, then the 1-10 times it is thrown only 1-10 times does that ball through out the runner... SO they had a good shot there... It looks bad now that he is out but the move made sense.

I agree, you gotta send the guy and try for the run. Odds are good you will score that run.

What the hell do you mean not a bad send. Pujols would be up first and third with one out.....Are you joking. Beltran has a great arm. That was inexcusable.

You got money on the game man? You gotta send the runner. I guess with two options there will always be an argument.

Like Joe Morgan said, usually in that situation with a 5-1 lead usually the throw does not go home. So I don't know if the Cards expected him to throw home. But it was a laser and Eck is not the fastest little man in the league.

You guys must know a lot about baseball. You never send the runner there with how hard that ball was hit.

Well I played baseball from the age of 5-18... on highly competitive teams, finished second in the pony world series... and was on a high school team who had 6 d1 baseball players and I started... So your arrogant quote is stupid to say the least...

Eck was crossing the base when he got the ball and it took a perfect throw to get him... In that situation... AS HALL OF FAMER JOE MORGAN SAID... the ball is usually not thrown... So you send them hoping to steal a run... But what does Joe Morgan no... He doesn't know much about baseball either haha

I played College baseball and I don't think his quote is stupid.

There's no reason to chance his scoring. You need a big inning either way, and that was there best chance of scoring with the heart of the lineup coming up. Beltran had the play in front of him and he could see that Eckstein was dead!! It wasn't like LoDuca had to block the plate. The ball was there.
