Is there anything better than opening day of baseball each year??

I mean almost every team has a shot at the playoffs. Even the Orioles, Devil Rays, Brewers, Reds, Nationals and the Pirates have at least 7 days until they are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs!

The opening rounds of the NCAA tourney (Thursday/Friday) are the two best days of the sports year, IMO.

Except for the VCU game, it was quite uneventful though. Nothing gives me a rush like the first card for NCAAF weekend.

I gotta go with Bowl Week starting with the kickoff of the Christmas Eve game.

I always save my PTO for the week between Christmas and New Years just so I can drink late, sleep in, and bet my tits

off for 2 weeks.

Opening Day is a tradition unlike any other sport...it also coincides with the beginning of Spring when everything appears to be new again, which puts people in a nice frame of mind....kind of like the real beginning of the year for many sports fans.

It was uneventful in the sense that there weren't many true upsets...but a lot of the games were very close until late.

I agree that this year wasn't as good as years past, though.
