He was very guarded and very careful with his words. Not just when he was asked directly, but indirectly also, more times than one. My read is that unless he has a change of heart, he's gone.

He went to FL and built it from the dulldrums and took em to two straight championships. He will always be in Urban's shadow no matter what anyone says. FL is a football school, not a basketball one.

Why not go to KY and do the same exact thing, but be the one and only focus in the STATE!!!!!!!!!!!

He should take the money. Plus they lose a lot next year. College basketball is tougher to stay on top then football. Cash in while you are hot.

As great as Coach K has been he has 3 titles, really, 2 because I one was with the same team. I am not saying Billy couldn't do it again, but look how tough it has been for Coach K.

Take the money, coach for 8-10 years and get the hell out this crooked business. AAU is the whole problem.

If I were in his shoes, I'd remain at Florida if they would match the contract. Florida basketball is in much better shape than Kentucky basketball and that's his house that he built. He could go down with the Wooden's and Coach K's of the world if he stays. Plus, Florida is nicer than Kentucky.

Does he really want to go to the same same state as Pitino, his mentor?

I'm hoping he doesn't go but w/ what he's done at UF already, he's cemented his legacy there. No doubt.

If he wants a new challenge, he'll go to Kentucky. It's a dream job as they say. I don't know how dreamy it is when you have a coach who won the nat'l championship for your school, brings the team to the tournament every year, and they kick you out the door.

But maybe he wants to see what he can do. Remember though, before this Fab Five came, Donovan was an average coach. Rememer they got knocked out in the 1st or 2nd round of the tournament for a few years after they made it to the championship game against Michigan State. So like he said in his press conference, any coach could have come in and done what he did w/ this group of players.

I think hes crazy if he leaves. Hes been to 3 national championships at UF.

Kentucky is on the down swing. Kids dont even want to go there anymore. Plus kentucky is in the same conference, theres no way he wants to face the team he built every year.

not to mention UF has a beautiful campus with beautiful girls everywhere and great weather. what else do you want???

it IS possible for schools to become basketball legends other than UCLA, UNC, Kentucky, and Duke. UF could be next if he stays.

IMO if Kentucky is a dream job then it's a nightmare. Yes he has the potential to be "THE MAN" as Kentucky lives and breathes hoops, but he also has a good shot of running a successful program and still getting his ass fired for not being good enough for the rabid fans/alumni. He can obviously do whatever he wants but I'd stay at Forida and try to win one or two more. Also, as was pointed out does he really want of have to compete against the program that he built up?

How LONG wil Kentucky GUARANTEE his contract is I would think the KEY. He's on a LONG LONG LONG rope at Florida. They only need to be close to Kentucky's money--and not an issue unless there are family -internal affairs.

If he leaves it will be to the Heat. TAM is already looking for a new coach because the one they have is goung to KY this week. Also the Florida players are considering coming back next year.

Seems like a very Loyal guy....I would like to see what his players do. I am sure Florida will give him what ever Ky is willing to pay, so I would think if the players hang around so will he.

I'm sure I'm missing someone but these teams are every bit the equal of Kentucky the last decade.

Why not do exactly what his mentor, Pitino did awhile ago. Win a ncaa championship with a cast of future NBA players, and bold for the NBA with the Celtics and hope to draft Oden  .
