GoGo and the Mrs will be in Atlantis next week for the first time.
Looking for recommendations on best things to do as well as which restaurants you liked the most. Finally, is the casino a total rip off in terms of value and payouts as compared to Vegas? Do they have poker tables in the casino?

Thanks in advance

They have poker tables at crystal palace.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER SEEN. Expect to wait at least half an hour to 45 minutes to sit down (I had to wait 2.5 hours once). When you go to check your position on the waiting list (the only way to see if you can sit down), they don't even acknowledge your existence. Oh, but wait...when you finally get fed up with trying to get their attention and try to take a look at the list with your own eyes, suddenly it's as if you just shot someone. "SIR. WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING????"

And $8/half hour for rake is ridiculous.

While you're there, don't bother with poker. I'd loved to have played poker at Atlantis, but they don't have a poker room there for some reason or other.

The Atlantis casino is really nice, and customer service there is fantastic. I'd recommend you stay there if you can handle their higher limits.

Yes. I believe they have a comp program at Atlantis. I'm not sure how good it was (didn't participate in it), but if you call them (they have a toll free number I think) I'm sure they will tell you the details.

I only played essentially two 'bouts of blackjack with Atlantis. The other nights, I went to the club inside Atlantis or to Crystal Palace to play poker (should have gone clubbing every night. GoodNESS I hate Crystal Palace).

GoGo,

The Atlantis is really the greatest place on earth. Everything is a rip off but its ok because of how great the experience is. As far as comps go... they are not great because like i said its a rip off (i think you need to avg $50 a hand at BJ to even get graded). As fas as I can tell the casino is fair when it comes to odds on the table games. The sportsbook is brand new and very small, but a nice place to watch a game and have a cocktail. They have 4-5 very nice restaurants which are pretty expensive. If you are looking for a cheaper meal say for lunch or whenever, i suggest murray's deli by the marina, or a sports bar type of place in the casino. Hope im not leaving anything out.

Food was Wicked but $$$$ on the resort, depending on the Rest.
You can pick up burgers and sandwiches down by the marina for lunch kinda cheap. Burgers pool side are like 10$ I think. Staff come down to the beach to take orders, and the Strawberry and Banana Daqs are a must sitting in the sun :drink:

My two suggestions for dinner Outside Atlantis

1. A MUST, take a cab and ask them to drive you to the FISHFRY restaurants and get some local dishes. TD & I thought it was our best meal of the trip.
2. The PoopDeck...Yes POOPDECK lol. Just over the bridge and bang a left TD and I walked there, took like 20-25 min 1 way. We had the Fresh Lobster (picked my fat bastard myself lol ) best Ive had in Yrs.

Have Fun :bunnies:

Havent been there in 10+ years, and had stuffed that memory way off in the back of my mind, you touched it off and are right on the money, Great place to eat, had a long wait, but they have a huge bar, also I think there was a place called the Boathouse ???, right near the atlantis i believe, top notch food and service also, filet mignon and lobster cooked right at your table, it had small rooms for each party, individualized service, loved it.

Thanks for the info guys. Just read some info on the Poopdeck and it looks like a good choice away from Atlantis.

GOGO if you get a bad room and want to upgrade go see a bellman named Vaughen at the Royal Towers and tell him you know the Michael Jordan of Blackjack from PA. and give him a few bucks and he will make his move for you i showed the guy all the moves. As far as resturants go to the Dunes at the Ocean Club also the Bahmian Club is good and then the steakhouse Seafire is also good and if looking for a decent bang for buck Maggianos is good stay away from the Cafe Martinique also if you like sushi Nobo is very good but like everthing pricey. If playing Blackjack look for a guy named David a brother with big Coke bottle glass glasses he can be had because he pretends he cant see once and awhile and will let a hand slide but make sure you respond about 5 hands down the road so house doesnt see what just happened. The key there is taking care of proper help who can go to bat for you because they really dont like the owner of the place Sol Kerzner who is also a very schrewed guy. Have fun it is a great place and i have beaten it very regulary.

We need to hook up soon and party...of all the posters here at the RX you are one that I would enjoy meeting and throwing down a few drinks with. Maybe we can meet up at the Wynn for opening weekend of the NFL...:toast:

Yes, they have a comp program.

$50/hand 4 hours/day gets you casual food.
$100/hand nicer food
$150/hand lodging
$200/hand lodging + food
$500/hand - private planes
$1500/hand - They pay you $3000-5000 to show up.

Nobu is excellent.

THere is some steakhouse something like fireplace or firehouse that is superb.

Nothing is cheap.

They've added a new area - new suites and swimming with dolphins. I'm not sure if it is done yet, but just got the invite to preview it. www.thecoveratlantis.com
