I was just listening to the post game show on SNY and they asked Wagner what he thought of El Duques performance. He respondid by saying he didnt know because he was in the locker room for 6-7 innings. The commentators said this is a very common thing and most closers dont come out of the locker room until the 7-8th inning. Maybe i've been living under a rock, but thats kinda intriguing to me.

kinda weird to me....i thought most closers hung out in the bullpen

I've read that they usually will go to the locker room around the 4th inning or so to start getting loose, etc.

no idea why it takes that long but yea

Trevor Hoffman usually jogs out to the pen around the 5th or 6th
