But this is just an outstanding line on Harden here, kept reasonable after Oakland dropped the first two games of the series to the M's. Hraden is one of the best pitchers in baseball, and he's got a lot going for him right now. He is healthy, he had a good spring, he pitches well vs. Seattle, and he pitches well in this ballpark. Oakland was 7-3 last year in game 3's in which they were trying to avoid a sweep.
After Miguel Batista got his payday, a 3 year contract with the Mariners, I expect nothing more than this 36-year old to slide on the backside of his career. This is a complete pitching mismatch and a game that Batista loses. He has a 5.72 career ERA vs. the A's, and you can't give up anywhere close to that amount vs. Oakland with Harden on the mound.
