I am not sure how accurate their database is...

But covers has umpire statistics that date back to 1999...

For example...Larry Vanover has the plate in today's Tribe/Sox game...

Looked him up on there...and found that when the total was 10 for Vanover's games...9 out of the last 10 have gone over...interesting trend...

7 runs in the top of the third...and you need a magnifying glass to find his strikezone today.

The vast majority of my wagers are on totals using umpires now instead of sides
I look at K/BB ratios more so than if an umpire went over/under
Pops thread has some great info in it.

Tony can you tell me where on Covers you obtained the umpire information pertaining to (1) Vanover behind the plate today for the Cleveland-White Sox game and (2) the fact that 9 of his past 10 games behind home plate have gone over the total of 10. Thank you.

you can find the Ump link when you go the mlb section.
How do you know who will be calling which games?

Yes I know you can find the umpire link in the mlb section, but where can you find, as I asked, that 9 of the past 10 games Vanover has called behind home plate have gone over when the total was posted at 10? Tony Mar are you still around to answer these 2 questions? :icon_conf

I found that under match-ups it gives the name of the ump for the particular game. (answer for #1)

However when I click on Vanover and go back to 2006 stats I don't see the "9 out of the last 10 have gone over...interesting trend... " posted anywhere . SO I have the Same question #2 as Sprinky

I hear you Shambler. I did exactly the same procedure as you did and there is no such trend posted. So I don't know where he (Tony Mar) came up with that trend. Maybe he'll jump on board and let us know before tomorrow's games. (zzzzzzzzzzz) :drink:
