So after hitting a prop on opening night, i've stayed silent until now. I really like todays spot for the Oakland Athletics.

We're going to place a big emphasis on the starting pitching matchup here, as Rich Harden is going to take on Miguel Batista. Rich Harden entertains a 4-1 1.50 ERA lifetime against the Mariners in 42 innings along with 10 K/9. To go with that, the Mariners are hitting only .176 lifetime against Harden. Harden is also no stranger to success at Safeco field as he is unbeaten (with all his wins against the Mariners at Safeco) and has an even lower ERA of 1.03. Harden also seems to baffle the Mariners big bats as Ichiro, Beltre, and Ibanez are a career 6 for 60 (.100) against him. The only big bat on the Mariners that seems to even have a small edge against Harden is Richie Sexson, who is 5 for 17 (.294) with all 5 of those hits being doubles, along with 9 of his outs being K's.

Conversely, Harden will be matching up with Miguel Batista who will be making his first start as a Seattle Mariner. Batista is a slow starter in April posting a 5.06 ERA, the 2nd highest in any month of his career. He entertains a 5.80 ERA lifetime against the Oakland Athletics only sporting 2 wins against them allowing the Athletics to hit .275 against him. Batista has only made one appearance at Safeco giving up 3 runs in 6 innings. Look for him to lose his first one tonight.

I don't see the Athletics losing this one tonight. Mariners have a tough time putting win streaks together, let alone at the beginning of the season and will likely breakdown with Batista on the mound. Oakland wins this comfortably.

KEY STATS
Ichiro is 3 for 22 (.136) against R. Harden.
A. Beltre is 1 for 15 (.067) against R. Harden.
R. Ibanez is 2 for 23 (0.87) against R. Harden.

J. Kendall is 8 for 23 (.348) against M. Batista
N. Swisher is 4 for 13 (.308) with 4 RBI against M. Batista
E. Chavez is 5 for 10 (.500) with 3 RBI against M. Batista.

Well, Harden kept his streak going against the Mariners and Batista folded as I suspsected. I'm new to capping baseball so that's why I haven't much much yet, but i'm sure I'll be betting more soon! Nice win for me tonight, congrats to all those who did the same.
