Season Record: 0-0-0 +0.0 Units

Hey all,
After some deliberation, I have decided to kick off the season a bit earlier than expected. I have one play for today.

4/13/2007: Atlanta Braves (Chuck James) @ Philadelphia Phillies (Adam Eaton)

PLAY ON: ATLANTA BRAVES ( MoneyLine, -110)

Let me start off by saying that my method of handicapping games is different than just about anything you've ever heard of. I focus primarily on the emotional/motivational aspects of the game that directly correlate to player hustle, focus, concentration and overall motivation. The team that I play on will express the aforementioned attributes, while their opponent should come out of the gate with a lack of focus, concentration...etc. While I wont be giving away all of my secrets, you should get a nice sense of what I'm looking at on a daily basis through these writeups.
This afternoon, the Braves come into this game off back to back wins against the Phillies top 2 starters in Hamels and Myers. They barely squeaked by last night with a 3-2 win over the rather inexperienced Cole Hamels. Tonight they get an established pitcher in Adam Eaton who should get the respect he deserves. Eaton has been around the league for a while, and has proven his ability to perform. He is also 2-1 against the Braves with a 3.86 ERA over the past 3 seasons. You can be sure the Braves will be reminded of this stat. Combined with the facts that they are playing their division nemesis in the Philadelphia Phillies, they are coming off of a lackluster season, and have a lot of hungry young players, the Braves should be Locked In tonight, and ready to perform at their optimum focus level. <!--D(["mb","</div\>
<div\>*</div\>
<div\>On the Philadelphia side of things, the offense is way out of wack.*In their minds, they got*a*win stolen away from them*last night by Hudson and the Braves. They definitely should have won that game. Off a slow start, the Phillies now face Chuck James, a virtual unknown in the league. This Phillies team, knowing they have a very strong ballclub, will not give James the respect he deserves. They will not come into this game with the same mindset as they had last night against Tim Hudson, and as a result, the Braves should easily be able to capitalize on their "Locked Out" mental state. I fully expect the Phillies offense to continue their woeful ways.
</div\>
<div\>*</div\>
<div\>From a talent standpoint, Adam Eaton was a disaster last year.*He was injured, and got rocked in Texas when he wasnt.*While*Eaton is a well-known name in the baseball world, he is overpaid, and overrated. James is a southpaw, and Philly's offense has been in a slump to say the least. James doesnt walk many, and averaged almost a strikeout per inning last season. A perfect balance of walks, strikeouts, and quick outs. He has also had a phenomenal spring. Chuck James was a huge secret last season, going 11-4 in 18 starts. James will still not get the respect he deserves today, and should carve through this Philly lineup, as he did twice last season. Atlanta being favored on the road with a rookie pitching also shows us that Vegas thinks James is a particularly strong pitcher as well.

Pretty good write-up, that is until I got to the sentence above. That's a thought I've used many times in wagering and I would advise that you don't put too much into it or you find plenty of holes in your pockets over the course of a short period. Good luck. :lolBIG: <!--D(["mb","</div\>
<div\>*</div\>
<div\>Offensively, Philly is a disaster so far. Haha appreciate the thoughts Sprinkly. Just glad to see hes not +170. I think as long as the talent disparity isnt too great between Eaton and James, the Braves should be more than fine today.
