Pretty sure EVERY team in the league would take a guy who hits .290+ 35hrs+ and drives in 100+ RBI every season and is never ever hurt. Must be doing some good if he is putting up those numbers.

Lets slow down and win the game first as I have a nice size TB +1.5 +150 bet in place and we aren't out of the woods yet.

It is always funny to me how his mishaps get blown up.

Abreu hit a weak grounder to the pitcher that got a force at the plate in the at bat right before his.

Anyone who did not see the Red Sox game today, please be sure to tune in to baseball today or sports center so you can witness the awesomeness that is Daisuke Matsuzaka.

It's Red Sox tradition. We have to have the flagship pitcher and lose all the time.

Clemens, Pedro, Dice. .Notice a pattern?

I hear ya. Actually the playing field seems to be evening out the last few years with some of the bad teams doing a good job with player development the last few years and proving you don't need big money to win but it sure helps doesn't it. Sort of a nice change.

Name two Red Sox World Series MVPs in the past 88 years.

Like I've said a million times...New York will always be a better, more successful franchise than Boston because:

Boston, the franchise and its fans, are obsessed with beating New York.

New York, the franchise and it's fans, are obsessed with beating EVERYONE.

Until that changes, sucks for Red Sox fans.

If the Yankees were winning 8-3, E-Rod's last at bat would have been a 3 run double. They're down one in the 8th w/ the bases loaded so obviously he pops out to first. I told my wife he either K's or pops up here and he made me look good. haha.

Pitching seems to be a little light in the bronx AGAIN. maybe the yankees should re-sign Al Leiter or Scott Erickson.

their sharp in new york, sharp I tells ya

if their payroll was $40 million they would make the playoffs once every 25 years or so

Not really.

Georgie is as obsessed with the Red Sox as Henry is obsessed with the Skankees.

The Yankees traded Sheffield to the AL Champions JUST TO KEEP THE RED SOX FROM GETTING HIM ... why would you trade a guy like that to Detroit if you are obsessed with beating everyone?

You will have to excuse Raj. Him and his brothers, they hate the Red Sox with a passion.

His opinions are going to be as about as 'fair and unbiased' as something you hear on Fox.

Maybe because he's nearing 40, now injury-prone, and a defensive liability for which there'd be no room because there are already too many of them in the Yankees lineup?

Then there's the whole selfish, whiney attitude thing.

Not bad reasons to let him go. I personally like Sheff, but I can understand why NY got rid of him.

And Joe Torre's job isn't in jeopardy when he loses to Boston. It's in jeopardy when he doesn't win championships.

Sure, George wants to beat Boston. But he and the organization have a championship mentality. The Red Sox will forever be trying to play catch-up, and will continue to fail miserably.

Well, at least until baseball gets a salary cap. Then all hell will break loose. Good stuff.
