:smoking: These nutjobs are disorganized, it's not funny. It's always an issue (i.e. leave valuable packages out for any to get despite requiring a signature, taking a week to get an overnight package & etc.) with these fuckers when you have something delivered to you. Is there any worse here in the States? I've heard of others with similiar stories in different states!

Sorry to here about your situation.

I was just thinking of them yesterday. The last 4 out of 5 deliveries to my house, the driver has backed out of my driveway and has gone completely into my yard. My driveway is not long either. Normally I wouldn't care but I have sprinkler heads in my yard and don't want those run over.

And if the Road Warrior says it, it must be true..

These guys are clueless... They try to compete w/ Fedex but fall short. I just sent something Fedex yesterday..picked up on time, tracked easily on website and delivered 3 hours ahead of schedule. For the $$ FedEx is the best.

I have not liked DHL compared to FedEx. Even when I have to go to my local DHL shipping office, it is like they are in another league compared to FedEx from a service standpoint.

FedEx as a company has huge quality processes in place for everything - I studied about them in business school. Absolutely anything you can think of is thought about, tracked, and improved on.

Yes DHL is the worst by far. Personally I would rather someone send me a Priority Mail via USPS than DHL.

Just so you know go2, DHL has the worst payrate of their delivery people out of the 3 overnight services (UPS, FedEx and Delivers Hours Late) by a large margin.

Why would anybody use another company than FEDEX? They are money in the bank. My office probably sends 50 a month and I would say they fuck up maybe 1 per year and of the one they fuck up they usually get it delivered in the afternoon instead of the morning.

I worked for DHL in the 90's (security), I worked for Fed Ex before DHL in the early 90's and there was no comparison...Fed Ex blows DHL away and even considering technology had advanced by the time I was at DHL they were a decade behind easily.....not sure how it is anymore, I know DHL bought out Airborne and DHL is owned by the Dutche Post which is one of the wealthiest companies in the world....DHL was much bigger in Europe until they bought out/merged with Airborne.

I'm a little surprised though that they have overnight letter delivery problems and can't get an intl letter to customers in a professional manner...the overnight letter is easily the most simple delivery....I guess they are still trying to do everything cheaper.....the delivery industry profit margins have dropped over the past 10 years , with so much competition and the ever rising fuel costs....think about what 1 cent rise in fuel does to a company like DHL/UPS we're talking millions for every penny.

No matter what a mixed up overnight letter delivery is inexcusable in this day and age, and should happen less than 1% of the time.

UPS Ground shipping pricing is reasonable and they will pick up the same day from your office unlike FedEX Ground plus until recently UPS blew away FedEx International services.

Dont sleep on UPS.

I dont know. I worked in a shipping department for a while and DHL was the only ones who seemed to just show up for pick up when they felt like it. UPS and FEDX are pretty tight with their schedule always showed in the same 15 minute frame.

Right now, waiting on a UPS. The anticipation is killing me. And If I miss it, I wont have it for the weekend. I must have clicked the tracker link about 5 times in the last 2 hours. "In transit, In tranist" *sigh*

The reason is money. Amazon has switched over to DHL on 99% of two day shipping orders.

I would assume that was before DHL merged with Airborne? Pre 2004.

DHL had a much larger pick-up time window than Fed Ex, the routes were much more spread out because they simply did not have the domestic volume....

Fed Ex routes were tightly packed with a stop every minute to five.,...It was not uncommon for a DHL driver to drive 15-25 minutes between a stop.
