Damn, I sure hope so. They got embarrased earlier this week, and they face a pitcher who they've owned in the past. FWIW, Red Sox pitcher Tim Wakefield was 0-1 with a 7.59 ERA in two starts last season against the Rangers and is 7-13 with a 6.08 ERA in 28 appearances versus them. The UNDER is 7-0 in the Red Sox last seven games as a road favorite. The UNDER is 5-0-1 in Tejada's last six starts as an underdog.
The Ballpark has been tougher on Wake than any other ballpark in baseball. Can't find those stats, but overall against Texas he's got an ERA over 6 in 134.2 IPs. But apparently he's really pumped to put that run to an end. I don't think there's much value in this one, although I put a third of a unit on the Sox as just a homer/action bet since I'll be following along from work anyways.
Remember that Wakefield is a knuckleballer. If the wind is blowing out it actually HELPS a knuckle baller as it gives it much more movement. With the Rangers not hitting, the Red sox only scoring 5 runs in the last 2 games vs KC I can see an under play here.
I do like the Rangers to get their first win today though.
