Flicking the channels around to the different ball games and the various parks, I couldn't help but think, as I stopped on the Indians channel, that what I was seeing was a perfect example to back up the debate that the MLB season is too damm long. They actually had to delay this game in the 5th inning because the snow had accumulated to the point where the field was a sea of white as opposed to the traditional green. Field crews took over the game and had to blow the entire outfield clear of the fallen snow while the infield was dusted in the same fashion. This debate has been going on for years and tonight was a perfect example as to why they don't need a season which includes 162 games in addition to the postseason. There is no reason in hell why Major League Baseball can't shave 12 games of the schedule and thus eliminate two weeks in the season. I mean who would actually care or even miss 12 games for that matter. The scene in Cleveland is a complete joke and the comments made by the announcers doing the Tigers games in KC certainly add to the mockery of this ridiculous sports schedule. Maybe if they forced the MLB brass to hold their annual winter meetings in the outfield of the Jake in mid January, the 162 -game schedule might be shaved somewhat. hno:
