I have DTV. I know DTV is having free preview till 4/8. Why arent any of the games on right now? The only game i'm able to view is BRAVES/METS on fox.

What is the deal. Pretty crappy we can only watch 1 friggin' game out of 15.

Will TB devil rays be on tv tonite?

I assume the rest of the 4:00 EDT games are on Fox. I would expect the 7:00 and 10:00 EDT games to be on TV.

Fox has rights or some BS like that so DTV can't show any games. That's the only thing holding me back from buying the package... I don't know all of the rights issues with Fox/ESPN/ etc...

But according to others at least we will get to see the night games... I thought the whole day was blacked out.

It does, the games are blacked out as you know, therefore they cant be shown by DIRECTV MLB Xtra innings......The games you cant see are on local channels in that region, leaving the rest of us without. When the games sell out we see them, when they dont....we dont(TV sellout, a certain number of seats must be filled-not ticket counts)
I say....:bigfinger to DIRECTV and the FCC for all these dumb rules, feel good about this dude....atleast you didnt pay for it as I did and still cant watch them!!!
And the FCC and Directv wonder why people do ILLEGAL things to watch GOOD TV!!!:bunnies:

Well actually if you compare to some of the years back, the deal is pretty good. I remember one year that the games on Wednesday was blacked out and the only game that was on was the ESPN game (as well as your local game). That Strike Zone channel and Game Mix is bananas.

Baseball blackouts have nothing to do with sellouts, that is only locally for football. the baseball package is blacked out when Fox is showing games and only then. The rest of the time (including when ESPN is showing games) you will get the other games. Only Fox broadcasts black out the other games.

Youre right. If that was the case people in the DC area would never be able to see Nats games on TV.

I think the Florida/Philly game isnt on the package either as well as the Toronto/Tampa game. Sorry.

http://sports.directv.com/main.htm?404;http://sports.directv.com/Packages/MLBExtraInnings

Here's a schedule for Direct TV.

Cant answer that question but Fox last year didnt start covering MLB until later in the year hence on Saturdays the DTV package will leave out some of the games.

I'm still considering the computer package from mlb.com and they are covering these games via Fox.

The only time all the games are blacked out, regardless of who shows them, is for the 3 hour period every Saturday, when there is a National telecast on Fox. Not Fox Sports Net, but the Fox network. As to the Extra Innings Package, I had it last year and they do NOT show every game. Most days, it seems 2 to 4 games are not shown. I think it has something to do with who has the local rights for each team. I never saw a game from San Diego last year on Extra Innings.

The only way to see every game, except your local team if you live near one, is to buy the package from Major League Baseball for $89 on the internet. I had both last year, so I could see the games that were not on the Extra Innings package, except of course, the Saturday games. The MBA internet package does give you the radio broadcast for every game, even the ones that were blacked out today. If you have a lot of bandwidth, I have 6 megs, the picture is pretty good. No more jerking or freezing up but who wants to watch games on their computer. The can even show six games at once, but that costs another $40. It's ironic but I can't get the package because I have DISH TV and they won't agree to what Major League Baseball wants. I may have to switch to Direct TV if Dish dosen't do something soon. Hope this helps.

I don;t think you can watch local teams on the internet. sportsline blacked out the NCAA games that were shown locally as well. I would venture to guess the Miami area gets the D-Rays on the internet since they are Marlins territory. Peninsula may get it too, not sure whose territory that would be.

Yeah Fox Has The Period From 1pm-7pm Any Games Shown During Those Times Will Be Blacked Out Via The Internet Or Tv. Unless You Get That One Locally Televised Game On Saturday Fox Baseball. This A Great Example As To Why Basebal Does A Poor Job Of Promoting Baseball. This Is Another Example Of Why Bud Selig Is A Poor Commish. Get It Together Baseball Every Other Sport Is In The Game Why Aren't You? I Think Nba Does It On Sunday When Abc Has The National Broadcast Which May Happen Today Haven't Looked At Schedule. But Anyway It Is Ludicris And People That Wana See These Broadcast Like Myself Should Voice A Complaint Cause It Will Go On All Year Long.
