oh well, it was damn exciting though, no matter who you were rooting for

the new NHL is a good product even with diluted talent levels

on to the playoffs, let the games begin!

Should have never been in this position. Played bad vs Rangers and Islanders, not to mention blowing that late 3rd period lead vs Buffalo.

All in all, too little to late again for the Leafs. If Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment execs have any loyalty to the fans, they should blow the team up and start from scratch.

Well if Dipietro doesn't go down and then come back too early and then go down again and Chris simon doesn't cost them a game with that suspension, the isles probably cruise into the playoffs.

    Big break for the Sabres.

No chance the Islanders will defeat Buffalo in the opening round.

Maybe that piece of crap Darcy Tucker can take the extra month or so of vacation time for some anger management class so he doesn't have to cheap shot Hecht anymore.

    BLOW Leafs BLOW!

wish I would have seen the game, sounds real exciting............ANY Opinions on coach of the year? I know the Islanders barely got in but considering some injury problems they got into after Christmas, and in my mind the very average lineup they had to start the year...I feel Ted Nolan did a great job with this team and deserves to at least be nominated!!!

When was the last time the Leafs and Habs were both out of the post season?

    Should be Ruff *again*

President's Trophy with VERY significant time missed from Connolly, Afinogenov, Talinder, Spacek, Gaustad, Drury, Lydman, Kotalik, Paille ... are you kidding me?

This team resembled their minor league Amerks for a good part of the year and kept on winning.

I agree with you lander just hope that Nolan should at least be nominated, just cheering for the underdog I guess, imagine of all the possible matchups and Nolan faces the Sabres in round 1 without Dipietro....playoff hockey is always great, looking forward to that Pitt-Ott series

kinda pissed the Leafs are not in the playoffs but at the same time kinda not because I think they deserve it. At start of season I said they wouldn't make it, unfortunately I was right but they were better than I predicted. I don't think Ferguson as GM is that great but I'll give him credit for at least letting some youth in the lineup to play and develope, something previous Leaf teams didn't do while teams like Detroit, Colorado, and New Jersey did do: mix leadership with youth. Since '95 those teams have 8 Stanley Cups. Look at any team that has won and you almost always see the proper mix of youth and leadership.

"the Leafs were hammered by injuries, leading the NHL with 335 man-games lost."

2nd year in a row they miss by 1 point... time to upgrade the defense.
