Minnesota 79 year old man loses 38,000 online blackjack..

Minnetonka man loses his shirt playing online blackjack.. Supposedly the guy lost 21 hands in a row......was betting $100 a hand but only won 14 hands out of 300..Is this possible??? Then started betting $300 a hand and was winning at a 11% clip.....I always knew online blackjack was totally rigged.. So how do these places get away with it....

Casinos are rigged if you bet big hands. If you bet small 5-10 dollar hands they'll get you feeling good,when you put down the 100 bam its gone. Then you want to get the 100 back, bam you lose that. Now your down 200 and you start gripping the mouse, trying to keep yourself from clicking hit for a 100. The game recognizes it, gives you the 100 dollar hand, so your down 100. Then they even give you the next hand back even. Then you exit the game saying I'll never come back. This is when you are defeated. You wander back in, place 100 bet loss, another 100 loss, another 100 loss and on and on and on and on until you end up broke. These casinos know how people react and use it to there advantage somehow from what I've read on various forums, etc.

I've never played online blackjack in my life. I hate cards, especially poker. From reading tons of threads thats what happens.

I don't have an opinion of online blackjack, but if this post is indicative of how you gamble, money management and chasing sound like bigger problems here.

That commentary has nothing to do with the way I gamble. That post is my opinion on what happens with people who play online blackjack and why I think it's rigged. That's also how I think this 79 year old guy lost his money.

As much as I hate online casinos and know them to be rigged, odds are this guy would have lost the same amount in a real casino.

I have play tons of hands from online casinos, I don't know whether it's rigged or not, some to me are seems to rigged such as Bodog and Wsex's casino, some are definitely legit.

But I got to tell you that I would not play at any online casino without a decent bonus given.

Online is so convenient, this guy lost track of what he was doing and just kept playing when he should've stopped. If he had 38,000 with him in a casino I think it would have been a different story. The ability to play electronically and not see the money is why it got so out of hand IMO.

True...having to dish out the money each time would stop most people.

I was referring more to the way he played the hands. I don't think it was cards cheating him (although that could have been the case). I was just giving the opinion that the guy probably wasn't playing perfect blackjack strategy to begin with.

Online BJ is definitely rigged.

That being said, could money be made with bonuses? Yes, but not as much as you'd think on paper.

Is there any indication if the guy was hitting 15's against a dealer 5 and things like that? Some people have no concept of basic blackjack strategy and will get crushed. He could just be a very bad player.
