The best part of the movie then it attempted to get too hip and got mired with too much stuff going on.

1.5 / 4 stars

I agree with you 100%. These threads are always tough to judge, because it's totally someones opinion and if you disagree you come across as bashing. So, no bashing intended, but I thought it was about a 1.5....and that might be generous.

Another good one is Deja Vu.

Not much buzz when this movie came out last year, but one of Washingtons good movies.

Question ... Has Denzel Washington ever made a bad movie ? Every movie he has been in the past 5 years have been great.

No offense or bashing taken, everyone has a different opinion. I also agree there was a ton of stuff going on at once but when it all came together at the end, I found it pretty interesting.

Manchurian Candidate was a terrible remake

Man on Fire was Average at best imo.

Denzel is one of the best of our generation but his last "great" movie was Training Day if that even counts as "great".

I watched an interesting but controversal movie the other night called Alpha Dog. Based on a true story it stars Justin Timberlake (believe it nor not) and Bruce Willis. Watch the performance by Ben Foster as Jake Mazursky, pretty over the top but still incredible.

The movie was made about the life of a young hoodlum named Jesse James Hollywood (thats is real name - he is called called Truelove in the flick) a drug dealer who became one of the youngest persons ever to make it onto the FBI's most wanted list.

Anyway, pretty wild flick about the young druggie crowd in Los Angeles in the late 90's.

I agree with the 1.5 / 4 rating, and also agree that it may be generous.
