For tonight's Athletics game: NW at 10 to 20 mph - Does anyone know if this is blowing in or out, and if there is any value to be had in looking at Wind Patterns vs Total Over and Unders? If it's blowing in, kinda love the under... If it's blowing out, KINDA LOVE THE OVER... Any help would be appreciated here... :youmad:

I live a few miles (Alameda) from the Coliseum and have froze my @#% off at many early season A's night games.

I've got to respectfully disagree with previous answers. A NW wind means the wind is coming from the NW, not blowing to the NW. At the Coliseum, this is blowing in across the 3rd base line (approx.) There are a small gaps in the upper deck near the left and right field foul poles, the wind tends to funnel in through these openings, tonite (NW wind) in thru left field. Also, typically, the ball just does not carry during cool Oakland nights, the park is much livelier in day games.

Best of luck however you play it.

For the most part, the wind is not really a factor in oakland and/or san francisco when it blows out 15-20mph.....trust me on this, I have learned my lesson on the same thought process. Wind 15+ mph = automatic over......NOT!!! Becareful, there is a reason why the total is on 8.5. Look at the scores of the A's games since opening day. Plus 10 of the last 14 that Chicago has gone to Oakland have gone under. Good Luck with your pick. I am all over the under.
