Why are the Yankees so fickle?

Games like tonight make me wanna bet on the Yankees every game of the year. They are absolute offensive powerhouses and any guy on that team can crush a 450-foot homer. Plus Carl Pavano is pitching an absolute gem against the potent Twins lineup.

But then sometimes they play like absolute shit and lose to the Devil Rays or to the Orioles TWICE in a row. And their pitchers give up tons of runs.

I just don't get it.

Pavano has suffered injury after injury, but when healthy is a solid starter. I used to watch him when he was down here in sofla hoping the NYY would sign him. If he stays healthy he could be the best #3 starter in baseball with that lineup behind him.
