Just asking men. It does seem to fit. Where is the drama in October? It depends on how you look at it but he can hit 350 96 HR 211 RBi's this year. But he better hit when it counts. Mr April!

i was thinking the EXACT thing, like how Dave Winfield was Mr May!

Very fitting, the guy hasn't won a thing in his career aside from individual awards..

Yeah Steinbrenner tabbed Mr May I believe and it was a classic line. Some people still love Arod and look at his good numbers but others are going to look at his early production and almost make them more pissed. Mr April!

More propaganda from a bunch of Boston fans. Would we hearing a peep of this stupidity if he was with your team? Of course not.....

We are hard on our own too. Jim Rice was scrutinized a lot for not being as clutch as he should....Yaz was booed here. And much more. We are hard on our own too. Make no mistake about that. Fair but hard, we like to think. As far as Arod come on....Mr April seems pretty appropriate to me.

agree. Some may want to look at the fact he hit over .350+ last September and hit more HR's in the month of September last year than any other month. ANYONE AND I MEAN ANYONE can take a baseball stat can chop and cut it up to look anyway they want. These numbers were put up right smack dab in the middle of a pennant race but somone will find a 10 game bad stretch and make a stat out of it. It is stupid.

Bottom line you look at the biggest picture and see what kind of numbers he put up over his career or last few years and it is a no brainer he is one of the top 5 offensive players in the game today, peroid. Thsi argument is getting really lame.

DEAD WRONG ICE. Last 10 games Yanks fate was determined. Arod has gagged in the playoffs and more than once. He should be putting up huge numbers. That is when it counts. In 2004 when the Yanks collapsed against the Sox, ARod (Mr April) was hapless and hopeless during the last 4 games....someone else said so weren't a few others...yeah but Arod never has come up big (seeJeter)and he is getting paid big. You get paid and are DEFINED during money times whichare the playoffs and big games. Sometimes not fair I agree but you play in NY and get paid more than anyone else in baseball, you best be prepared.

It was funny when NY media labeled him "Mr March" because he got a game winning hit in the World Baseball Classics after going 0-fer in the playoffs. Hahahahahahahhahhahahahahaha!

I look at the big picture. When Yanks are struggling as a team in June or whenever his homers and hits come, they are very important and puts them into posistion to be in the playoff hunt later in year.

Looking at a handful of games and saying he didnt do well in those doesn't cancel out the absolutely huge numbers he puts up 95% of the other time. This like saying a winning gambler goes 2 for 12 so you look at those 12 bets and say he is terribile.

This is so dumb it isn't even worth arguing. The guy struggled in a few post season series that is it. His overall career is instant hall of fame and isnt even up for debate. Not even sure why people bring this up. It is what it is. Look at the big picture. I can promise when he gets enough post season at bats he will end up around .300 and averaging a HR every 15 at bats or so. They will (the numbers ) work themselves out in the end and a bunch of people will end up eating alot of crow when it is over.

I agree for the most part. His numbers are pretty darn good but right now remember he is in the middle of a great team and lineup...that helps. When he does get it done then the monkey will be off his back but he has not yet and had numerous chances to get it done. No crow Ice as the performance speak for themselves...he is a great player who has not gotten it doen when it counts. When he does he does but he has not as of yet. The last two years I though he was really due for a major postseason and it did not happen. Do not forget his awful defense last year. The pressure has gotten to him in NY. Forget manipulating the numbers.....he has not done crap when it counts. If you ask George Steinbrenner about Arod under hypnosis what do you think he would say????

Did you guys no games in April count? And winning games in April are very important, because if you won no games in April or May, September and October wouldn't matter haha
Just wondering if you knew it counts

Realistically A-Rod could- (his career is only half over, age 30)

reach 4000 hits
reach 850-900 home runs
reach 700 doubles
reach 400+ stolen bases
reach 2500+ runs scored
reach 2500+ RBI
never win a world title
win 5-6-7 MVP's
still be called a bum by a good percentage of the fans.

I suppose the one knock, he hasn't improved upon his walk/strikeout ratio

:WTF: 900 home runs....he's a shoo-in to break Barry Bonds HR record. (barring injury)

Yankee Stadium is no cheap homer for a right handed batter either.

he sure could put up those numbers, he seems like one that would play past 40, if able.

Those numbers are insane. How many do you expect him to achieve Jman?
