Have had a good first week of the season and figured I'd start tracking my picks. My only outs right now unfortunately are Matchbook and VIP (which I pretty much hate), but oh well.

Texas -140: Took the Rangers big yesterday as they are playing some good ball right now. I'm not a big fan of this team this year, but I can't argue with the way they've been playing since they got home. They looked solid against Boston all 3 games, winning 2 of them. Tampa on the other hand, has lost 3 straight and is 3-13 in Texas since the 2003 season. The only thing keeping this from being a 2 unit play is Jamey Wright. 1.40 units to win 1.

Boston -175: Good luck to Seattle today. They haven't played since Wednesday. They're flying halfway across the country to Boston for the Red Sox home opener. And they have what seems to be a renewed Josh Beckett to butt heads with. This team is going to be cold, and with Beckett all of a sudden having a solid changeup and curve, I don't see them getting much going this afternoon. 1.75 units to win 1.

Cleveland -130: I'm not sure how I feel taking Cleveland today after what I just said about Seattle being off since Wednesday. Cleveland is in the same spot, but I think they have enough offense to get through it. Plus, they are coming in against a pitcher they have had success against in the past. Santana, in 2 starts against the Tribe, has a 14.54 ERA. I like Santana to really step up this year as a solid starter, but I don't like this spot for him. Last year he was an extremely solid starter at home boasting an ERA barely above 3. On the road, however, it jumped to a hair under 6. 1.30 units to win 1.

I also currently have leans on Minnesota +125 and Toronto -140.
