KIRKLAND, Wash. (AP) -- Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Warren Moon was arrested for investigation of drunken driving after a trooper stopped him for allegedly speeding.
Moon was stopped in downtown Kirkland, State Patrol Trooper Courtney Stewart said Tuesday.
<TABLE cellPadding=1 align=left border=0 hspace="10" vspace="5"><TBODY><TR><TD></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>The former Seattle Seahawks quarterback was arrested early Friday, taken to the Kirkland Police Department and later released. His vehicle was impounded, Stewart said.
The case was forwarded to King County prosecutors for possible criminal charges, said Stewart, who added the patrol is not allowed to release Moon's blood-alcohol level test. Moon played 17 seasons and 208 games in the NFL with the Houston Oilers, Minnesota Vikings, Seahawks and Kansas City Chiefs. When he retired after the 2001 season, Moon ranked third in passing attempts, completions, yardage and total offense. Moon, who entered the Hall of Fame in August, has been an analyst on Seahawks radio broadcasts the past three seasons.

In Florida, not blowing is the same thing as pleading guilty. They are so damn strict.

He is lucky to have that clause.

My only "encounter" with Warren Moon -

After the "Miracle at Rich" the Oilers moped out of their locker room one-by-one to fill their two charter buses. Most didn't say a word and tuned out hecklers and loyal Oiler faithful alike. The last of the Oilers to leave the locker room was Moon. As he's boarding the bus a middle-aged southern man yells asking Moon to sign an autograph for his 7 year-old son cause they came all the way from Houston to frigid Buffalo for the playoff game. Moon pays no attention and finishes up the bus steps. Two seconds later the bus stops and Moon shuffles off the bus and signs the autograph for the kid and softly says something that I couldn't make out. Moon got back on the bus and the kid was beeming, despite the bitterly disappointing loss and long journey ahead.

That had to be the lowest point of Moon's football career and he was still all class that day.

Sounds like he might not be the best of people, but for one day, at least, he was admirable in my book.

I met Warren Moon at an NBA All Star game and he was first class. Had some pictures with him and then I proceeded to slap his wife.

Seriously though, met him at the NBA All Star game and he was a great guy. So that other story doesnt surprise me one bit with him giving the blind, deaf kid an autograph.

if you are under the legal limit you are not drunk and therefore if you are driving you are not a drunk driver

What does that have to do with this story?

Under the limit means he as not intoxicated. Plus they have the limits set so low now that you have to question the integrity of the officers who ran him in.
