I'm sure they will mess it up somehow.

Blackhawks own first-ever top draft pick

<bytag>NBCSports.com staff report</bytag>Posted: Apr.10, 2007, 1:27 pm EDTThe Chicago Blackhawks were the big winners at the NHL's Draft Drawing Tuesday and will draft first overall in this June's 2007 NHL Draft.
Chicago had an 8.1 percent chance of winning the drawing, as opposed to four fellow non-playoff teams that finished with worse records.
Philadelphia, which had the highest chance of winning the drawing with 25 percent, will draft second overall, and Phoenix will select third.
This will be the first time in Blackhawks history that the club will have held the first overall selection in the NHL Draft after never drafting higher than the third slot.
“I know we will definitely get something that we need, a goal scorer,” said Chicago's chief amateur Scout Michel Dumas. “The top five or six players in this draft are very good players. It’s very possible that the player we select will be able to step in and play next year.”
The results of the Draft Drawing, and the order of selection for the first 14 picks of the 2007 Entry Draft, are as follows:
1. Chicago Blackhawks
2. Philadelphia Flyers
3. Phoenix Coyotes
4. Los Angeles Kings
5. Washington Capitals
6. Edmonton Oilers
7. Columbus Blue Jackets
8. Boston Bruins
9. St. Louis Blues
10. Florida Panthers
11. Carolina Hurricanes
12. Montreal Canadiens
13. Toronto Maple Leafs
14. Colorado Avalanche
Teams that did not make the Stanley Cup Playoffs, or clubs that acquired the first-round picks of those non-playoff clubs, participated in the Draft Drawing, and could not move up more than four positions in the draft order.

They need the next 10 top picks and then Bill Wirtz will still screw it up!

Now is the time to gobble up BlackHawk futures for next year.... they are much better than their record indicated if they can stay healthy

My biggest fear is the Tribune selling the Cubs to Dollar Bill Wirtz.

Hawks still have many things against them - they have to draft the right player, then sign him. :ohno:
