Vegas rules - how is the side and total of that Milw fla MLB game graded? that is a new MLB rule this year not to start over, but does Vegas care and grade it that way?

does it carry over?

a total is a prop and needs a complete game is that right?

if you have fla in a parlay and the other two teams won, is that a winning 2 teamer or do you wait for this game today to be completed to grade?

what about the side, is it being completed then graded or is it now no action?

why is this graded a loss? Not a full game, more runs guarenteed, prop bets I thought needed to be a complete game? Was the run line graded a loss if you had florida?

In MLB, totals and run lines are graded once a game has gone 9 innings (8.5 if the home team is leading) even if a game is not completed. This is from a sportsbook site:

***
Major League Baseball games are official after 5 innings of play, or 4.5 innings if the home team is leading. If a game is subsequently called or suspended, the winner is determined by the score after the last full inning unless the home team ties the score or takes the lead in the bottom half of the inning. Then the winner will be determined by the score at the time the game is called. When wagering on total runs or run lines, the game must go the regulation 9 innings, or 8.5 innings if the home team is leading, otherwise it will constitute a "No Action" wager, and all money will be credited accordingly.

The wagers for BOTH the sides/totals should be STILL PENDING per the new MLB rules this year.

http://mlb.mlb.com/news/gameday_rec...tent_id=1890813&vkey=recap&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb

"Under new league rules, the suspended game will resume at the point of the stoppage, which had the Brewers preparing to bat in the top of the 11th inning. Before the third delay, two previous delays lasted a total of 71 minutes."

"Had the old rules been in place, the game would have been replayed but the statistics would have counted. Now, the game starts off where it left off, with the players already used not available to return."

You should send this to sportsbooks if they still think Over wagers yesterday is already considered a loss.

Yes, but keeping in mind that the requirements has already been met as it went past 8.5/9 innings. Just that the game hasn't been officially declared over for any grading to be done.

You got it right. The books should have this parlay as pending and wait until the game to be completed today to be graded.

I think if somebody could guarantee that all suspended games were finished the following day......sportsbooks would change this rule. Until then, the rules are in place BEFORE the games start, thusly, are fair to everyone with no prejudice to any side .

This is from Sonny Palermo's forum, EveryEdge...

Hey All,

A pal of mine is in Vegas right now. He has a two team parley invoving the Brewer game last night. The ticket is at the MGM.

The MGM is claiming the game was final last night, thus it's an under.

However the game is being continued today.

What's typically book policy on this?

Thanks

....now could you clarify why the MGM is grading the game as under when it has not gone 9 full innings? According to Rick A's post, it should be graded "No Action"

The game was suspended after ELEVEN innings, thus the requirement of 9 full innings was completed.

Very valid point about how some suspended games *may* end up being finished 3 months later with the new rules.......... I don't know how to balance that scenario. However, sportsbooks actually should have changed their rules accordingly before the start of this MLB season (yes, this is all by hindsight, unfortunately, I admit).

It's just that every few years there would be new rules that affect major sports that the sportsbook have to adjust to before the season kicks in.

Evidently, the best course of action is to simply grade "No action" to totals and run lines as already mentioned by RickA. Any parlays would be reduced appropriately. This would then eliminate the scenario where a suspended game is then finished only 12 hours later or 3 months later, it wouldn't matter as it's now a new beast (just like doubleheaders).

Very good point, CAPN CRUNCH.

Ten innings (start of 11th was suspended)... but anyway, the interesting thing here is:

while the requirements of totals were completed (9+ innings), but the "winner" of the O/U wager has not been decided during this 2-2 suspended game. Therefore, it should have been a "No Action" result, right...?

Yes. The outcome of the M/L wagers was a push/tie. Run lines and totals were graded accordingly.

check your respective books, but my understanding is

m/l = push
run line/ARL = loss
o/u = graded since it went 9 innings.

The real situation that sucks is when a game is already over and gets shortened for a rain delay before going 8.5/9. E.G., team is up 10-7 and the game is called after 7. No reason that shouldn't be graded as a win for the over and loss for the under.

The rule needs to be changed so that all wagers are cancelled. What would have happened if the total was 8' and the game got suspended at 4-4? The over players would be fucked because someone would eventually score and the game would be an over but under the present scenario it would be graded as a loss.
