Agree on four (although dominating might be slightly much for Sowers and James), but can't say I've seen enough on Owings yet. Verlander, Hamels, Cain, Chris Young and Haren might also be in this category by year's end. And plenty of guys on the verge in the minors right now (e.g., Miller, Pelfry, Gallardo, etc.).
its way too early for this...
-Sowers has given up like 4 hits in 10 innings
-Too my knowledge, in two outings James has gone deep into the games and given up very few runs, if any
Hamels is another guy that is doing well, Rich Hill and Ian Snell also
The point is, the more young guys that we identify that are showing consistency over 2 or 3 games to start and dominating early could have value for another game or 2 before the cat is out of the bag
Not even close. It is NEVER too early to know which young guys are performing right now. For the life of me I cant stress this enough, as a general rule, you bet on young pitchers early in their seasons, and fade them later. You will miss a large boat of betting baseball if you ignore this. This has to account for at least 10-15% of my capping and is very, very ,very consistent and successful.
Might as well throw some out.
