Don't laugh. His numbers say yes. 7th all-time in passing yards, 13th in TD passes and 5th in completions. Started in 96 SB and backed up in 2001 SB. And unlike Marino, he has a ring.

Not even close! He was not a perennial Pro bowler, MVP candidate, never the best at his position (arguable if ever in the top 5). He is a compiler.

Absolutely NOT! The NFL HOF criteria is like converting the metric system to US measurement, either way he has no chance....Curt Schilling has a better chance of getting in .

bledsoe was a MUCH better quarterback than most people give him credit for.
he was the prototype for an nfl quarterback in the 90s.

.... but no, not a hall of famer. very good pro though.

I would make the analogy of Bledsoe and Mattingly.

Solid career, but not close to the hall.

So do Dave Krieg's and Vinny Testaverde's.

There are three types of lies - lies, damn lies, and statistics.

No f*ing way. A ring Tom Brady won him BTW.

Bledsoe/Mattingly is a bad comparison. Mattingly isn't in the hall b/c he was injured, had he not blown out his back he likely would have gotten there. To me he is more like a Jim Thome, solid player, some spectacular years, piled up major numbers but not HOF caliber.

Mattingly never had any chance.

Just look at his #'s and get back to me on that one.

His back problem had nothing to do with it. He was one of the best players in baseball for 4 season 84-87, after that he was average AT BEST. Sure he was fantastic defensively but not nearly enough to put him over the top and his shortcomings offensively after 1989 are huge.

Bottom line is he didn't sustain greatness for a long enough period of time.

I hope this is a joke...Bledsoe was never great. He was a walking turnover even when at Washington State. He was overrated everywhere he played. Big with a big time arm but the poise and mobility of a retarded cripple.

Look at his TD/INT ratio every season. This guy cost his team more games than most QBs. He was a nightmare.

It is no big secret why the team played so well with Tom Brady at the controls of the exact same team Bledsoe had.

He threw 44 TDs with 33 INTs at Washington State also by the way...horrific for a QB when you compare to other pro caliber QBs in college.

That's the point, he hurt his back in June of 87 and went to crap from there. He was 26 when he injured his back and retired at 34. he finished 1, 2, 5 and 7 in MVP in a 4 year stretch before being injured. He wouldn't have just fallen off the map at age 26.

Had he not injured his back he had at least 4-6 more .330/30+/110+ seasons in him. He would have been a .320/375/1600 career guy easily. His career mirrors Billy Sims or Terrell Davis or Eric Davis more than Bledsoe.

100% NOT stats of post 1980 qb's are inflated all the rule changes since then have benfitted offense.......more teams running pass first run second mentality unlike pre -1980..........here is another stat for you if you use the QB RATING system they have in place right now for NFL qb's i think culpepper is in the top 8.........bledsoe not A HOFer not even close
