are you kidding man? Kobe shoots 51.5% against double teams all night whereas Maggette just throws his body against our big dummy bynum and foul machine turiaf. I do feel sorry for that shot he took from bynum though

Those double teams (and triple teams) are called team defense.

The :lol: was in response to royboy in the post right before it.

Kobe is the best player in the world. I have said that many times. I have also said I hate him, so it is a joy to see him choke a game away. It doesn't happen often.

I started this thread about the team, that is why I said team defense. I couldn't care less if Elton Brand faced double and triple teams and scored 50 points if the Clippers lose the game.

That is why Maggette took advantage of the sorry Lakers defense...we have a much better team with options in the block and on the perimeter that make sure teams can't double.

The thread was started in good fun (just like last year when we had a better record and lasted longer in the playoffs).

By the way...Clippers are 7-6 against the Lakers in the last 3 years. There are a lot of teams that can brag about their lifetime record against the Clippers.

Clippers have a losing record, have NO All-Stars, haven't won a playoff series in eons and are still the nagging little brother in LA despite what happened tonight. They are 2nd class citizens in the Staples Center and L.A., and they will be lucky to win 2 games in the playoffs. They are barely above being the laughingstock of the league. Those days aren't that far in the rearview mirror. Not exactly much to brag or celebrate on.

And I am NOT a Laker fan!

Maggette should NEVER EVER go to the Foul line 20+ times, let alone in a road game. I don't care if he is assaulted on every play. He has not earned that status. Make an All-Star game before you go the line 20+ times.

Will the Clippers get a banner at Staples because they won tonight?

If the Clippers ever play the Lakers in the playoffs - or I should say beat the Lakers in the playoffs, then we'll have a rivalry. It's going to take that kind of statement from that team before I buy into any of this hype about the Clippers, right now they're just a more successful team this season than they were for the past millenia or so.

The Lakers build championship teams, that's proven, the Clippers so far have shown that they can build (a) a zillion losing teams and (b) a kind-of winning team that has no chance of going anywhere in the playoffs. For the Clippers, option (b) is a good year, for the Lakers, it's a bad year, that about sums up that rivalry right there.

No, Elton Brand is not an All-Star. He has 1 appearance in his career and has never been nor ever will be 1st team All-NBA. That makes him a former All-Star.
