Brewers,

Starting pitching best I have seen in a LONG. Was a little worried about mid relief but so far so good. Suppan having a rough start.

Bench is great, a good mixture of vets. and young. Infield solid with Hardy back 100% and Weeks looks much more confident at 2nd this year. Counsell and Grafanino split time at 3rd.

We really never had a catcher that could hit the last few years. Estrada is showing me some outstanding hitting (switch) and I do not believe they have given up a stolen base yet.
Fielder is taking on a silent leader type and hitting the s*** out of the ball and playing a great 1st.

There is a buzz, hopefully only locally, that this team will make a run for the playoffs for the first time in a long time.

Hope the injury bug stays away.

Brewers are definitely up there, as are the Marlins. Seattle is an up and comer as is Pittsburg. Granted, all these teams *might* fold as the season moves along, but they are looking very good thus far.

Pittsburgh Pirates, they have may have more young talent than any other team. All of their starting rotation is solid except for Armas. But the other 4 are all young stars, Duke, Snell, Maholm, and Gorz. As far as the bats.. well they will start swinging them soon enough. LaRoche will get his head outta his ass n finally hit some balls. But other young talent is Jose Bautista, Brad Eldrid, Chris Duffy and not to mention that almost every other starter is young.. Freddy.. Bay.. LaRoche.. Nady.. no one is old there whether its their SP or batters. I see this team gettin over .500 this year and contending within 2-3.

Also:

Florida Marlins.. whole team is young and good.. really good.
DBax.. no one gives em credit.. even the odds makers when they are out to a 7-3 start.

you're right gyn about the cubs.. i haven't placed a bet on any of their games because i have no idea what to expect from them.

i think it's best to go on a game by game basis.. one day there is value on a team and the next day it's on the opponent.. trying to ride a team is very difficult i think.. nobody probably played the royals in every game last year but they still made 11 units.

Arizona for underrated.

About the Cubs (and all the other NE teams). They are really hard to play because the weather here has sucked - rain/snow and very cold. Hard for these teams to get in a rhythm. Cubs are much better fundamentally but with no leadoff hitter (Soriano is not one) and the uncertain status of A Ramirez (wrist), they will not really start hitting until the weather is warmer.

To be technically honest. The Indians are the best "TEAM" in baseball.

60 millon dollar payroll!!!! They have spent their money well...

White Soxs have a payroll over a 100 mill..

Gyno, You might be right by what you say here but on ESPN or Fox or any baseball shows you never hear them mention the Indians as the team to beat its the Red Sox,Angels,Tigers, and Mets or even the Yankees get more love than the Indians for gods sake. But thre Indians need another bat,Bullpen help (Who Doesnt),and maybe another starter.Gravy

Nobody wants to play the Padres in a series..

Peavy-Young-Maddux is intimidating.. Would not be surprised at all if they made the World Series and did damage.

Anybody not named Yankees or RedSox.......ESPN needs to understand there are more than two teams in the world.....maybe they should have stations in the midwest, south, and west coast, instead of B.F.E. aka Bristol, Connecticut........I remember last year, the Tigers smacked the Yankees and then Oakland....and while the World Series is going on, they are still talking about why the Yankees suck.......who fuckin cares? They LOST!!!!!!!!!! Move on.........just my thoughts.....
