For one.. the Giants cannot score. For two.. the Bucs got their ace on the mound. Combine the two and you might see a complete game shut out by Duke here. But I'm sure you wanna hear the statistics part to this right. Talk about good pitching. Pirates have a team ERA of 3.25. The Giants.. 4.33. I kno, I kno.. a team ERA is meaningless right.. especially when only one pitcher can start? Dukes ERA though right at the mark at 3.46. But don't forget that the number might be inflated a little. If you remember correctly his last start, he went deep into the game with a 4-0 lead against the Reds. They jacked him for all 3 of his runs late in the game and he came out with a 4-3 lead. Up til that point he had shut out the Reds through I believe 6 innings. Now it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that the Reds have a way more powerful offense then the Giants. What else can I say about the Giants to sway your opinion?? Maybe the fact that they average only 2.22 runs per game!!! How do you win if you do that? They make fun of the Nats by saying they haven't scored in the 1st 3 innings of any game this year but they score more than the Giants when it's all said and done! That adds up to an impressive 20 runs all season! A-Rod almost got that many RBI's alone in 7 games! Bottom line is the Giants woe's don't stop here.. and the Pirates will take advantage of it. This is what they need to get rollin.. a team with a weak offense to go on the road. Easy win.

Pirates 5
Giants 1

I kno I told myself that I would never bet on this team until they got on a roll but I truly cannot help myself in this situation. This is a great spot for the Cubs. They come into this game at only 3-5 while the Reds come in at 5-3. The losing record doesn't bother me one bit. After Zambrano's first game when he got shelled against the Reds to open the season you can bet your money that it will not happen today. I'm glad the Red put a lickin on them to start the year because it fired up Zambrano and his next outting he did much better only giving up 5 hits in 7.0 innings pitched against the Brewers. Bottom line is this, in the Reds last 4 games.. they are 1-3 with 12 runs combined. That's only 3 runs per game. If they can't score versus the D-Bax pitchers (no offense) you can damn well believe that they will have trouble today against Zambrano. With Derrek Lee and Aramis Ramirez both battin over .400 coming into this game, I feel great about this price. Mark my words.. you will never see a home game with Zambrano on the mound for this price again. Lay the chalk here and watch the Cubbies roll!

Cubs 6
Reds 2

Good Luck to all.. more picks to come later!

Dontrelle is off to a fantastic season and I will no way miss this chance to get him at -106. This is a gift, literally a gift from the sick minds of odds makers. He pitched a solid game to the Phillies w/ the except of one mistake in the 3rd inning which is all he gave up. He threw an amazing 9 k's in 6.0 innings of work and I see him dominating this Braves lineup today. This is going to be the case of the after affect from losing to the Nationals. As you seen when the Marlins lost a close game to the Nats they got blasted by the Phillies in an 8-2 losing effort. The same exact thing will happen today. I still can't get over this line, Redman is old and out of it. He was a loser at the Buccos and will continue his woes as a Brave. He's a strong 0-1 w/ an ERA of 7.94. Yes, I know the team he went against was the Mets, and they have a strong offense, but so do the Marlins. The key to his game is Miguel Cabrera.. he is more solid than anyone on the Braves team. Players like Andruw Jones are very powerful but on the other hand very inconsistent. Cabrera though has a batting average of .406 and 4 homers already. I seen a comparison on ESPN the other day showing A-Rods first 500 and some odd games versus Cabrera's first 500 some games. They were virtually the same with identical batting averages, and Miguel has a few less homers but more RBI's. This is just the type of player he is.. very good and very young and very consistent. You can count on him having a field day versus a very, and I mean very average Mark Redman. Along side him they got a great start out of Hanley Ramirez to start the season battin over 300 with 8 hits and 8 runs. Means when he gets on they score him. Dan Uggla is having a rough start searching for his first homerun and he can no doubt find it today. I feel 100% on this game.. eat up this phenomenal price!

Being a homer is a good thing.. at least the way I see it. Sure I root for them every night, but I don't bet them every night. I only bet them when I am really sure of something because I know this team inside and out.
