I am 7-3 in baseball on the year, have posted five straight winning wagers and I am coming off a 4-0 night in the NHL playoffs. The money train is rolling right now and its time to keep it going. Here we go with my first bet of the day:
CINCINNATI REDS ML +154
This was not a tough call for me. Aramis Ramirez is out for one and Aaron Harang has always dominated the Cubs both at home and at Wrigley with a 6-1 record lifetime versus the Reds and a 3.82 ERA in those games. I did a little bit of math this time and found that the starting eight for the Reds are batting a combined .282 lifetime versus right handed pitchers. The Cubs, without Ramirez, are fielding a starting eight batters who have combined to hit .274 lifetime versus right handed pitchers so I would like to think the Reds are going to have plenty of opportunities to make some plays in this game and support Harang with some runs. Zambrano is one of the best daytime pitchers in baseball but I don't know that he is as effective in the colder weather like today. The month of April has always been the one and only month where he is a good fade with his 4.21 ERA. His ERA is well below 4.00 in each and every other month of the season career wise. The Reds already have a win at home against Zambrano and as much as I believe in revenge spots, I don't know that the Cubs can get it done against a pitcher who has dominated them in the past. Not much else can be said about this game. The X-Factor for me is that kid Josh Hamilton who should continue to play well and who could be the feel good story of the year in MLB. I'll take my chances against a Cubs team that has not won at home yet. Zambrano should never be backed in April, he has never pitched all that well in April and I am jumping on one of his last April starts before he kicks it into high gear and tears it up in the summer. GO REDS!
