I am now 9-3 on the year and have posted seven straight winners in baseball. This is the time of the year where I usually make most of my money and I have been on fire in bases so far hitting everything from large dogs to even money lines and more favored teams. Here we go again with some Saturday winners:
SEATTLE MARINERS ML +110
This one wasn't hard for me. First of all, with these two ass clowns on the mound, there is no way in hell the home pitcher should be the underdog. I know Miguel Batista was horrendous in his only start against Oakland and I know he has terrible numbers against the Rangers in his career but the Mariners are in need of a home win and Vincent Padilla is just as bad in his career against the Mariners. The Rangers are 0-2 with Padilla on the moun this year and he has a 4.66 ERA at Safecofield with a 1.40 WHIP. Batista on the other hand is as good a fade in April (over his career) but there is so much value as the underdog here. The only two games he ever started at Safeco he got ripped in a million pieces. I fully expect Batista to give up his fair share of runs today but the Mariners offense, which has been dormant so far, is going to have his back and lead him to a win. I did a bit of math and although the Texas lineup looks intimidating today, they bat a combined .277 career versus right handed pitchers. The Mariners on the other hand loaded their lineup with guys who can crush righties which is why I think Padilla is going to get ripped in pieces. The Mariners starting lineup today is batting a combined .290 lifetime versus right handed pitchers. Padilla has already given up 3 HR's this season and some guys on this team have tagged his ass in the past (Beltre has 3 HR's, Ibanez has 1 HR and Ichiro has 1 HR). The Mariners are finally playing a normal rythm of games this week with their first back-to-back games in a long time. I also have to mention that home plate umpire Paul Emmel loves the Mariners and they are 14-2 the last 16 times he has been the home plate umpire in their games. Padilla is the kind of pitcher that needs to pitch every 3-4 days but he has not pitched since April 8 and is 1-8 the last nine times he has had five or more days of rest. The Mariners are going to breakout the big bats today and bring home a 'W' for the hometown fans. Texas has not had any success hitting righties this year (.225 on the year) so this is a great time to fade them. Alright, time to move the line at Pinnacle with this one. GO MARINERS!
