I agree that it would have been an interesting question, but...
What we don't know is what Aaron agreed to talk about during the interview. Aaron may have agreed to do the interview only if no questions about Barry were asked. Aaron deserves all the respect in the world; he wanted to be at this tribute to Jackie Robinson, just like he doesn't want to be there when Bonds breaks his record. I respect Hank Aaron immensely for both.
You never agree with me, but I will agree with you right here because that's the first thing I said to my friend as we listened to the game.
I told him I would bet him that Hank Aaron wouldn't even do the interview unless it was known they could not ask him about Barry Bonds. That had to be why they didn't ask him and they shouldn't have asked him.
Hank Aaron is making his feelings made on the subject. He hates Barry Bonds and that is wild because Willy Mays and Bobby Bonds and Hank Aaron and Dusty Baker and all the rest are really close. For Hank to refuse to give credit to Barry Bonds for breaking his record says alot. He won't give him credit let alone be there when he does it.
I just wonder if Selig will take Hank off to the side and throw him a few million because baseball really needs him there. It says everything if he isn't there because of the connection of all the older players.
