My wife has talked me into coming up to NYC for a weekend this summer. I'm a Pirates fan (no jokes please, it's hard enough!), and they have a series up there June 8-10. I'm sure we're going to have to go see all of the tourist areas and all, but where is the best place to stay, eat, etc... I'm hoping to get a hotel in an area that's going to be easy to get to the Stadium, as well as being close to the other stuff. Thanks in advance.

Midtown is your best. If you stay anywhere in the 30's/40's near Broadway you can walk to MSG, Times Square and the Broadway shows.

Take the 7 to Shea 4 to Yankee

Very easy.

Midtown gets boring, Broadway from 40 and up is interesting. Union Square which is on 14 is nice.

5 Ave is a must see walk from 45th and up on 5th towards Central Park which is also a must see.

A lot of shit to see.

Stay at the THE HELMSLEY PARK LANE HOTEL at 36 CENTRAL PARK SOUTH. Thats if you don't mind spending 314$ per night. VERY great hotel. Great food , near everything and you'll be satisfied. Stayed there many times and loved it. Worth the $$$. Their average price is 375$ per night but they have a Spring Special for 314$.

Hey, every Hotel in NYC is overpriced. This hotel you are right in Central Park, you can have an upgraded room with a better view for 400$ + per night. Sure you can spend much less in Jersey or out of the city but if you are on vacation, splurge and enjoy. Go see a broadway show, take in a Letterman show, hundreds of places to see in the city. It will actually take you 3 weeks to visit them all and enjoy yourself while doing so.

A friend of mine stayed at the Bentley Hotel which is on the east side for $200 and it was worth it. It's really nice. Had a South Beach feel to it.

Also, Del Frisco's Restaurant for a steak is incredible.

Nightlife, you could bounce around the Meat Packing District. If you're going in June, there's the Hotel Gansevoort in that area where you can go to the roof and have drinks. Amazing view of NY and a good place to see celebrities, but be prepared for a $12 gin and tonic.

It all depends on how much you want to spend.

I've never stayed there but the rooftop restaurant is great for dinner and/or drinks-

Probably look at getting a good Italian dinner.

La Dolce Vita in West Village is a great small place where they play Frank Sinatra all the time

Il Mulino, Lupa, Babbo are all great but need reservations and pricey, Lupa and Babbo are Marco Battali restaurants.

Becco in the theater district is a great prix fix deal for $21.00....you get salad, 3 pasta specials of the day and dessert.

Little Italy: Il Pulazo or Pellegrinos (spelling may be way off on some of these)

These are just a few personal favs, if you want a restaurant in a specific part of town, let me know-
