They are a bad team (and still overrated by linesmaker). Other than Peavy, starting pitching is average to below. No pop nor speed in the lineup. Shaky defense. Only strength is bullpen which might be the best in the league. When they lead after 6, they will win 95% of the time.

They never ever seem to get a big hit and can't ever get the 3rd out.

you can say this about the padres the last 2 years, I think they'll be just fine

Loss of Roberts and Piazza really hurting the lineup. Catchers can't throw out anybody anyways, so they might as well have kept Piazza's bat

i liked both of them too, but they're gone so what are we going to do?

Even though the Padres are getting racked right now by the terrible cubs, the padres have never really had great starting pitching, and have definitely never had good hitting or speed but they've gotten it done the last 2 years with that brilliant bullpen being the main strength.

Every year the Padres start off bad in April, and everyone hates them...then they go on a big run eventually
