For all intents and purposes people with money and power are above the law to a certain extent. Andrew Luster would still be partying in Mexico if Dog hadn't chased him down and brought him back. Halle Barry was recently in a hit and run but was never punished. Michael Jackson, OJ Simpson, Leona Helmsley, and the list goes on for those that have had their wrists slapped for what would have put average Joe behind bars for years.
It doesn't make it any less frustrating, but there is most certainly two sets of rules in this country.
