In Basketball and Football I am definetely a follower, In Baseball hopefully I can help some people out.
All lines are with my local at time I put

Cubs 120/100 Zambrano gets it together
Devil Rays 130/100 Kazmir is a monster
Yankees 140/100 Yankees starting to click
Red Sox 135/100 Rebound from tough loss

Thinking about the Metropolitans against the D-train.

Comments welcome, Good Luck to all!

BOL CP. Keep up the solid work. Just curious, but what do you use as your book? I've found myself on many of the same plays as you lately but keep getting better lines at Matchbook. So far today I'm only with you on the Cubs, but got it at -103. Would obviously help your already good results though if you were consistently getting the better lines. Anyway, again BOL today.

I use a couple of locals, never really got into the offshore thing. I know it would probably benefit me in the long run. As of right know just using a couple of guy's in the neighberhood for convenience. Who would you suggest if I were to throw a couple grand in to an offshore? And how does the process of getting your money out work? I've heard it is a pain in the ass.

Yeah, locals can be tough that way as you never know what to expect with the lines.

If you're going to go with the online sites, a lot depends on what specifically you're looking for. I threw a tiny bit on Matchbook during football but busted that and never withdrew. I re-deposited for baseball and am looking to make my first withdrawal at the end of April, but until then that's the only thing I'm not sure about with them. I believe it will have to be a check via snail mail, but I'm pretty sure they haven't had any real problems with payouts. Getting money on there isn't the easiest thing in the world, but that can be said for just about everywhere these days. They took one of my credit cards for a $500 deposit, but not the other. Not sure how it would go for a couple grand. You can also do a bank wire and a couple other options. Not sure if Western Union is available. But if you can get money on there, that would definitely be a top option.

My other book is VIP, which has lines that are probably very similar to your local. Not a great book, but again, I can deposit there pretty easily. I started a thread in the sportsbooks forum about which books to use for baseball, and there were a lot of good suggestions. But the only one I can vouch for personally is 5Dimes. They have great lines that are usually comparable to Matchbook, and they're up early with no waiting to get action if you want to play something big. Also, they're quick with payouts from my experience, but since I can't get money on there these days without jumping through hoops, I can't say if that's still the case.

So if getting money out quickly or getting paid every week when you win is a big deal for you, then you might be better off staying put with your guy. But if you're like me, and play with money you know you won't need at the snap of a finger, then I'd definitely recommend it. Just to give you a quick rundown on the current lines for your games, Matchbook's got the D-Rays at -121, the Yanks at -128, and the Sox at -122. Whatever you decide, just wanted to help out if I could for someone who contributes a lot to the forum.

I can't argue with those lines, what I might do is put a couple hundred in a book just to try it out. I guess my only fear is blindly giving money to some foreign country and then jumping through hoops to get it out. I don't necesserily need access to the money at the drop of a dime I just don't want it to take 2 weeks to get it out. If you were gonna use 1 book just for baseball what would it be

Just to give you a bit more info, here is one thread I started on the subject and here is the other. Good info on there. If it were me, and you don't need to be able to drop a grand on an overnight occasionally, then I'd say Matchbook. The only issue there is that if you want to jump on a line early because you know it's going to move or just want to get it done the night before, it can occasionally be hard to put big money down. You can usually get a hundred or a few hundred on any of them, and definitely by first thing in the morning. Otherwise, since I haven't tried all of the ones recommended in the threads I linked to, I'd say 5Dimes as my second favorite. Consistent and pretty reliable. And always very quick with lines. Just make sure you tell them to shut off your casino access. Man did that kill me during football. Would get bored and decide to play a little BJ . . . then somehow end up on tilt and blow more of my BR than I really wanted to risk. Hope this helps. Glad to answer any more questions if you want, and there are plenty of people at the Rx that know much more than I do about these subjects.

Oh yeah, one last thing. What I did was put an equal amount on VIP and Matchbook to start since those were the easiest for me to get money into. I'd split my plays between the two, using MB for the ones where the juice was a big difference. Since baseball has started I've done pretty well and being up at both books, I now use MB for about 80% of my plays. On occasion I'll find a line where there's less than 5 cents juice diffence and use VIP just to keep my money diverse, but usually there's a good 10 cents difference.

much easier to play with a local, especially one you trust
1 - you know the person
2 - you know where to find them
3 - you know you are getting paid

can you say those about an offshore account where you have no idea who the people are paying you are???

sure the odds are a little higher....but with a record like yours...who cares......

keep it local gangsta......

I agree with all of this, but disagree that the better lines make up for playing offshore over the long haul. With online communities like this to vouch for certain sites, I definitely feel a bit safer.

I've played both.....just my opinion that I feel better with a local.
Much easier to get paid.....all cash......no western union or checks or none of that crap. Best of luck whichever way you decide to take your future wagers. I will be keeping an eye on you no matter what.....
