Yankees fans arn't bitching about A-ROD anymore. They had a right to considering he was like 2-42 in the postseason the last few years.

Regular season is meaningless to the Yankees, and rightly so.

Regular Means Everything Or It Wouldnt Be Played. Say Arod Doesnt Hit That Homerun They Go In A Tailspin And Can't Get Out Of It. Now They Have Won This one They More Momentum And My Carry A 10 Or Een 12 Game Win Streak And Pull Away In The East. Maybe The Real Question Is The Season To Long Or Are There To Many Games, I'll Buy That. But Not The Regular Season Is Meaningless.

Regular season is meaningless for Yankees fans. If they get into the playoffs they're suppose to. They've been their every year since 1995. They might as well lose in the regular season if they're not going to win the WS - it's the same thing for them.

It's just the way it is in New York.

The only thing today will go down as is a bad beat for CLEV / UNDER bettors. MLB doesn't give out WS rings for April walk-off HRs last time I checked, so Arod still has ZERO.

Funny thing too is that if someone made a Cashman a godfather offer for Arod today - he's be outta pinstripes tomorrow.

i pray arod hits 80 hrs and opts out of his contract and get the hell out of town... he can do whatever he wants but the yanks are better off without him... biggest baby in sports history without a doubt... i cant wait til hes gone and i can start rooting for them again... remember folks by the way it is april talk to me in october when he goes 1-18 in the division series... guy cant take pressure and an fyi a 2 out homer in april is not a clutch situation...

i'm a long time yankee fan. yes, arod is literally carrying the yanks on his shoulders right now. it's not the first time either.

we will not regard him as a true yankee until he does it in october.that is the way we think. winning the world series, and perfoming in the clutch in october is what gets our respect.

these threads are pathetic. Everyone knows it's "what have you done for me lately" so you can't make these threads everytime he has a good game. You can make this thread at the end of the season when you look at what he did as a whole during the 2007 season.

why do you find this thread pathetic? its a discussion about sports in a sports forum. if it offends you don't read it.

and yankee fans do not wait for the end of the season and decide based on the stats. that's the point. we look at the post season mainly.

a great example is reggie jackson. came to the yanks so they could win the series. even though his greatest years were with the a's, he will forever be regarded by us as a yankee hero b/c of his tremendous perfomances in october. his stats can't come close to arod, but that doesn't matter to us.

if/when arod has a big october, he will get the monkey off his back.that is our mentality. that is one of the many reasons why all other fans hate us so much.

it also spans other sports. walt frazier is a new york sports legend. we remember his performance in the '70 finals, game 7, possibly the greatest single game that a point guard ever had, and it was in the biggest game of the year, with reed on the bench. memories.

These threads are pathetic because each and every time A-rod hits a home run some blabberhead needs to start a thread about how not over-rated he is. The point is, each time he hits a HR does not make him less and less over-rated, because you need a body of work to judge that factor, in this instance it should be an entire season.

I was not offended. You are correct, this is a sports forum and it is my right to offer my opinion any time I want.

when your team is a losing team, you immerse yourself in stats from the individual players to decide who is good.

to win the championship, you need "money players" who can bring his game up a notch in big games in big spots. despite arods great stats it will come back to his weak octobers. if the players can't hack it, the don't take all that money, and play in small markets where the people, and the media are nicer, kinder and more understanding.playing in ny takes large balls. its not the right place for many players.

So when the Yankees make it into the playoffs by one or two games, what make these games in April and less meaningful than games played in September?
