Now if they just knew how to create an offense!:lolBIG:

The Ravens have a history of doing well on draft day. Linebacker Ray Lewis, tight end Todd Heap and safety Ed Reed all were picked in the bottom half of the first round.

The NFL draft is just 8 days away, it will be interesting to see who they pull out of the draft with their late 1st round choice.

Huge needs for Baltimore, a team that was picked by many to win the Super Bowl late last season....big question marks-

Is Jonathan Ogden retiring? Which would leave a massive hole at LT....I think Ogden will be back...I don't think he would put the team in that position, retiring without notice.

The offensive line is still their biggest problem IMO...and finsing another cornerback.

They lost their all-world defensive mutli purpose weapon Adalius Thomas, who was a salary cap casualty of the worst kind!

Still the heart of the team is the linebackers, Lewis, Suggs and Scott , how much longer they can rely on Lewis is another question.

I think they made a nice upgrade at RB, the organization was looking for a multipurpose back who could not only pick up a blitz well, but also be a true asset in the passing game, elusive in the open field. Jamal Lewis no longer possessed those skills...

One thing is for sure the window is almost shut on the Ogden-Lewis-Reed era..... do they have one Super bowl run left in them, time will tell. They sure could use another late first round gem by Ozzie Newsome and Co. we'll find out in 8 days.

Every team should follow one simple draft rule:

If a guy stinks in college, he will stink in the NFL.

Rule never fails.

They haven't drafted all that well of late, but late 90s and early 00s they were a machine early and late.

I feel the late draft picks always make more of a difference overall than the early ones. Identifying who to take in the later picks uses a lot more effort but pays off later on.

Look at the Bears drafts and they are the model for late-round drafting.

With the cap you have a short window to stay on top unless you draft very well....New England , Baltimore, Chicago, San Diego, Indy all have drafted very well over the past decade...Detroit awful , Arizona awful, Cleveland awful.

WHO HAS INDY DRAFTED CONSISTENTLEY THAT PUTS THEM IN ELITE DRAFTING STATUS???

Detroit has been one of the worst and that can be pinned on Matt Millen as it is his responsibility per job description outline.

Hard to believe you guys are talking about late round drafting, and not mention the Broncos. Anyone tell me where T. Davis was drafted? Save the Clarett debacle, the broncs have done pretty well late in the draft.

The T.Davis example is very important...if we were talking about the NFL 10+ yrs ago...the Clarett debacle holds more substance considering thats more of a reflection of 'now'

I wouldnt put Denver in J-Man's above list.
