The Phillies will be without injured slugger Ryan Howard as they open a series with the Reds. Jon Lieber, he of the 11.57 ERA makes his first start of the season for Philadelphia while the Reds will counter with Kyle Lohse who is 1-0 with a 2.53 ERA this season and a 2.19 lifetime ERA against Philadelphia. Cincy is hitting .283 against RH this season and that's bad news for the 39-year old Lieber who was openly critical about starting the season in the bullpen. Well, now he'll get the chance to start but for him and the Phils, it's the wrong place and wrong time. I'm going with the Reds based primarily on their decided pitching edge.
