I like the Cubs here vs. the Cards today, but I don’t trust Lilly despite his stellar performances thus far.

Cards are in a bad place right now. Pujols isn’t swinging it well, and he has been terrible at Wrigley. Rolen is questionable with food poisoning. They can’t buy a win right now. Their rotation is out of wack, with Looper making another start. I keep saying the deeper he goes, the harder it will be for him. Cards are bottom 5 in baseball vs. lefty pitchers. On top of it all, they play at Wrigley, which has been a house of horrors for them. 2-9 last 11 at Wrigley. They were swept there a couple times last year.

Cubs are flat out raking righties right now, top 5 in baseball – so Looper will have it tough today. Just a 1* play here at great odds, because Looper has been a pretty good day pitcher over his career and Lilly hasn’t. But I still think the Cubs have too many other factors going for them in this game, and if they win – it should be by 2+ runs. The Cardinals go as Pujols go, and right now – he ain’t going.
